Hello everyone,

Been lurking for about a month now and I finally decided to join. A little background of me: I drive a new-to-me 2014 Ram 1500 in Flame Red and my wife has a 2013 Chevy Impala in white. My dad taught me at a young age to take care of my vehicles, and up until a couple years ago, I only hand waxed my vehicles. A year ago I purchased one of those cheap wax spreaders from Lewis Drug for like $10. It worked a hella lot better than hand waxing but the machine broke on me last fall.

Been reading up and I plan on purchasing either a GG 6" DA or the PC 7424XP sometime before spring arrives. I have some leftover waxes I want to use up before I switch to something else. I have a new can of Mothers cleaner wax and a half-used can of both Meguiars NXT and their Gold Class wax to use up. Plan on switching to KAIO and Collonite 845 once I am out of my current stock.

Should the Mother's cleaner wax/Meguiars NXT work okay? I usually clay bar my vehicles before wax, but never used a cleaner wax then normal wax after before.

Thanks and want to say this site is awesome for killing time waiting for the weather to warm up!

Thank you everyone, this site has a ton of information. I have been reading for a good month before I joined and I hope to learn more.

Just made my first AG order for a 7424xp with 4 CCS pads (2 red, 2 green), 6-pack of the lake country flat pads (3 white, 3 black/grey), and a 2-pack of the microfiber bonnets for wax removal. Hopefully the colors I picked for the pads will work. I don't need much, if any, correction done to either my truck or my wife's car.

Happy hump day everyone! I am still unfamiliar with this forum so unsure if I should've started a new post somewhere or not, but I figured bumping my intro post would be easier.

Since introducing myself, I have purchased from AG the PC 7424XP Intro pad kit and got (2) red (2) green CCS pads and also ordered a 6-pack of the LC flad pads (3 white, 3 black I believe). Also received two red pads and Mike Phillips book (awesome read btw!).

My question is will I have enough pads to do both my wife's Chevy Impala and my Ram 1500 Crew? Both have almost flawless paint hence why i didnt get heavy cutting pads for the PC.

From my count you have 3 whites and 1 green pad. Those 4 will give you the most bite but not much and if as you say your paints are in great shape those should be fine. Another thing i noticed is, i am not sure if you want to apply the NXT after the Mother's Cleaner Wax. I believe Mother's leaves a carnauba wax and may not be best with that underneath the synthetics of NXT. Mothers Cleaner Wax then followed with Meg's carnauba wax would be better.

I thought of that a couple days ago when I was doing some organizing in my garage. I want to use up my product before buying new. I might save my NXT for my bike or have it available when I clean family's cars.

Eventually I plan on buying Griots AIO and their sealant or wax, or their AIO and Collinite 945 but still undecided. Want to keep it simple and relatively inexpensive to detail my vehicles.

With it on the sealant side maybe you could use up your NXT on the wheels. It might last longer than a carnauba on your wheels.
