J/K Honey. Should you ever read this :hotrod2:

which vac do you use?

Currently, I use the 5.5 unit from Lowes. I bought it last year at the black friday sale for $39. I'm really not a big fan of it though to tell you the truth, plus, I didn't purchase the hose extension because that would've almost doubled the price! I'm really glad I didn't too! When I burnup this one, I'm going back to the Craftsman. I've had several of those throughout the years

Oh, and that paper filter on the Lowes blows too!

you like the crapsmen better than this model... don't look at the price... look at the units please :)

Here is the sears =

Looks like a nice unit

Without comparing them side by side, of course its impossible for me to give you my sceintific opinion, but based on my previous expierence with Craftsman shop vacs, they're very reliable and very user freindly. Not to mention Sears is only two miles away should I need replacement parts

I wonder if each of these units will stay anchored to the ground, or will they tip over during vacuming?

BTW...I looked at the price :D

As long as we're talking shop-vacs, would you like to discuss dog hair removal?

Yes!!! Please...

Dog hair removal can be a real pain. Especially cars that have cheap carpets. Porsche trunk carpets are some of the worst. Hopefully your customer won't be riding around with their dog in the trunk

The best way I've found to remove DH, is with a soft pumus stone type material. The one I use is called The Hair Lifter. You can purchase these at most all of your local pet stores

Another thing that works well, is a damp microfiber or cotton towel

Of course your still going to spend quite a bit more time vacuming then normal, but this definitly speeds up the process and provides amazing results

Very cool, I used to have a dog and her hair was embedded DEEP in the carpet of the xB. I could never get it out, but we had the car detailed by some"pros" and they did get most of the hair out on the car. I always wondered how they were able to do it. :)

Any other tips you can think of that might help a newbe out. Hard to know what to ask if you don't know anything about it haha.

I'm going to bed now. If you think of anything else, just let me know (?) :dig:

This business is really not that difficult. Its mainly just hard work and determination. Thats the part many ppl don't think about

I'll try to come up with some more ideas and check back in tommorow. I've always wanted to do a "Detailing, from A-Z" in one thread, so for me, this is great!

You should get another doggie :)

My mother in law lives with us and has a dog... that's enough for me haha talk to you tomorrow!

Well, tommorow is hear and I haven't spoken with you today, so I just wanted to say hello and let you know I haven't forgotten you. I have a few ideas bouncing around in my head that may possibly help you. I'll try and post tommorow if thats cool?

Today was a busy one for me. Sorry I didn't get back to you either hahaha. I am sound deadening my xB and the last shipment of parts is coming in tomorrow, so I spent the morning pulling out everything behind the front seats down to the bare steel and cleaned everything super good for the application of the products. Should sound like the inside of a Lexus by the time I'm done... hopfully hahaha

That sounds intresting :Picture:

Chef,

Where do you plan on going with this weekend gig? Are you looking to change professions, looking for a little extra money, or just an enthusiast looking for a hobby?

Good question.... let me think on this a bit and get back to you... have to run out of the house right now, and for some reason tapatalk does not like to let me post on this site. :)

Weird, anyway.

It will start off as a weekend only thing for awhile. I would love to get out of the kitchen but the business would have to force me out of it.
