Just wanted to introduce myself and show some pics of my first detail. I finally ponied up and got a Porter Cable 7424XP combo kit from Autogeek. The paint on my Tundra is still in good shape but like most white Tundras, it was starting to develop that signature chalky look (kind of hard to see in the “before” pics).

I also completed some minor customizations such adding clear corners, removing the cheesy pinstripe and removing the “Toyota” from the Tundra door badges. In addition, I replaced my bumper with a chrome bumper after I accidentally backed to far into my boat trailer . I have always liked the chrome bumper better than my white limited bumper.

After washing, I started the detail with some Meguiars Ultimate Compound using the yellow LC pad on speed 6 on the PC. Then, I followed up with some 3M Finesse It II polish using the orange pad on speed 6 as well. Finally, I sealed everything in with some Collinite Insulator Wax with the white pad on speed 4. I wanted to kill two birds with one stone and buy products that I will use on my boat detail as well – although I have a different 3M compound for the boat.

I was blown away by how nice my truck looked afterwards – the depth of the color and shine are amazing. All “chalk” was easily removed as well as hard water stains from the paint and windows. Imperfections in the paint and slight nicks were also removed. I may be biased, but I don’t think I have ever seen a white Tundra shine like mine. Hopefully the wax will keep the chalk away for a while.

I like the monochromatic look of the clear corners without pinstripes. But I think the white rear bumper would add to that look.

The shine is right on though! Welcome.

Looks much better, its nice to see white shine! If you get ready to try a new wax, try is Pinnacle Liquid Souveran, really pops on white!!!

:welcome: and :iagree:with Meghan about Liquid Souveran.......
