Newbie here that wants to say hello to everyone on the site. I have always enjoyed keeping my vehicles clean but for years I used whatever I could get at the local parts stores and big box stores. I bought a new 2016 Mustang GT and figured it was time to step up the game. I ordered a "care package" of supplies from Auto Geek and when they arrive I will be starting my new hobby.

30 plus years ago, and right out of high school, I worked at a major dealership as a used car porter. Did my fair share of car washing, waxing and detailing. This was an upscale dealership selling Lincoln, Porsche and Audi cars. I have driven and detailed everything from Mercury Tempos to Maserati bi-turbos. Everything was done by hand back in the day because the Used Car Manager was terrified rotary buffers would burn paint on a car that sold for more money than they paid me in five years:laughing:

Chemicals consisted of a good shampoo, the new super protector "armor all",liquid carnuaba wax, terry cloth towels and cheesecloth for removal. Wow have the times changed!

I am looking forward to learning from everyone on the site how to do things "right" all over again.

Welcome Trajan! Yes, it has certainly changed and in my opinion all for the better!

Thanks everyone! From Sonus I got shampoo, clay bar, clay lubricant, spritz detail, and Total Eclipse protector. I also got Klasse AIO, Klasse sealant glaze and Pinnacle Souveran wax(mini size). Haven't gotten a DA Polisher yet but its on the wishlist.

Not a bad first order at all.

Nice order! Klasse is a great product but can be tricky to work with so read up. The great thing about this forum is everyone is REALLY helpful. If you have a question, shoot them a PM and you will get a response. I have a Flex and 7424XP DA. I'd be happy to let you try them out before you buy. If you can't get the DA now, I wouldn't expect much, in terms of correcting, with the AIO on a black car. I have some glazes that you can try..super easy to use and they will mask the defects but will not correct. I would suggest your next purchase be quality MF towels. There are numerous threads on the subject but I'd suggest shooting cardaddy a PM.
