Hi, everyone. I just discovered this site through Facebook, and am excited to be a part of it. I've been a car nut since I was a kid (I'm 43 now), and have been detailing my own cars and those of friends and family since I was in my teens. My methods have evolved with experience and information gathered from others over the years to the point where neighbors have asked if I'm a professional. (I'm not, but often thought I should have become one when I was younger.) I'm here to learn, and to offer any help I can from my experience. I've used products from many manufacturers over the years, but have been really happy using stuff from Griot's lately, and am glad to see that there are others here using it as well as some other products. Hopefully, I can continue to improve in the art of detailing, and get some help when I'm stuck. Peace, Eric

:welcome: I'm a newbie here also. You have found a Great place to hang out.:buffing:

Hi Eric,

Welcome to Autogeek Online! :wavey

That's a great testimony and probably describes most of here, never wall yourself off to new ideas and new products.

What part of the PNW are you from?

I've lived in both Oregon and Washington...

Thanks for the welcomes! I'm excited to have found this place.

Mike - I'm a lifelong resident of Puyallup, WA, about 30 miles south of Seattle.

we are all still kids at heart when it comes to detailing, the bones just seem to creak a bit more the morning after a detailing session. (smiles)

I know Puyallup very well. I used to do a lot of work with the local PBE Store there, I think they were called Autobody Colors but I could be wrong, it was run by a Father and 2 Son Team with another store in Renton.

I also worked at the GoodGuys Show 2-3 years in a row plus all of the Seattle World of Wheels Shows for years...

Here's a shot of a 1966 Chevy Milk Truck I used to own with a 1950 Studebaker Starlight Couple Carson Top Hot Rod. This was taken at the Puyallup, Washington Fairgrounds around 2000 or 2001

That was a great show!

That's cool, Mike! I never miss the Goodguys Show at the Fair. It's a highlight of my year. I have yet to take a car there, though. For years I was involved in the Vintage VW hobby, showing various Bugs, Squarebacks, and a Bus at local VW events, and prepping my friends' cars for shows. I sold my last one, a '71 Westfalia Camper, last summer, and currently only have daily drivers that I enjoy keeping shiny and clean. I have plans to get a 99-04 Black Mustang GT Convertible in the spring, but until I get more garage space, a classic car will have to wait.
