Just wanted to say hello to everyone here on AGO before I forget.
Lots of good stuff here to read and it’s been keeping me very busy. Although I have always been maintaining my cars over the years it’s always been with just elbow grease, rags and the plain vanilla products like turtle wax. Don’t cringe guys it was how I was brought up. I recently decided to no longer accept mediocrity in the overall look of my cars finish. I purchased a Makita 7” rotary polisher, some Mothers professional products and I am hooked on perfecting my autos finish. I have 4 cars all light colors, 3 are Toyota white and the last is Toyota’s silver metallic. I figure by the fourth car I do I should be a pro right? I am going to pick up a PC DA and see if that makes my job any easier. See you all around the forum.

Don't forget to tape off seams, edges, and raised body lines.

Happy detailing...:autowash:

Hi Jack,

Welcome to Autogeek Online! :welcome:

I think the general definition of a "Professional" is anyone that gets paid for what they do, that's kind of loose.

I know I've been detailing cars all my life and I'm always learning so keep on doing your best and always be open to trying new pads, products and tool. The PC is a great tool and since you're working on light colored cars you might not see any swirls after machine polishing with a rotary buffer but that doesn't mean there are none.

Using the PC for the last machine step will ensure a swirl free finish.

See my article here,

Hologram Free with a Rotary Buffer

Thanks everyone. Wow, there are lots of Long Island AutoGeeks here. We should have a local get together to swap tips. Hint Hint...... :props:
