Hello, all my name is Matt Roache I am an aspiring detailer who hopes to own his own shop. I currently do work out of my garage, I have been using the site for the last few weeks as my goto place for info. I thought now I should introduce myself since I have been reading for some time now. lol :xyxthumbs:. I look fwd to hearing from all of you with answers to my questions!

FYI . . . I'm not sure how great this place is or even if it's still around but I've heard in the past there is a detailing school in Holyoke.
 
Yeah, MikeyC- Its at CAR Products. I've gone to it, its not bad, but more of a quick once over than a detailed training.


Where in Western MA are you located? South Deerfield here.

It's still there. It's not a school. It;s a chemical manufacturer. They offer buffing classes Once a month. If you want to wet sand or learn the rotary it's worth checking out. Most of their chemicals and polishes are really good. I have an account there and they are really good people to do business with.

I'm north of Boston, I think it'd be a good idea for maybe those of us in New England could get together, have some type of meet and greet were we get to meet each other, maybe even learn from each other.
Any takers?
 
Yeah I would be interested. I guess picking the common ground would be tricky....Might be worth approaching a place like CAR or another northeast based chem company for a meetup.
 
I may check out the school for some pointers. I am running out of Westfield, I have to say I am surprised how many ppl are in this area, thats cool. For the locals, I got my basic knowledge of detailing from F.L. Robert's Golden Nozzle full serve car wash in Springfield, MA, ever since I have been trying to expand my knowledge on this site.
 
Rusty thanks, I really like your site by the way. I would def. be down with meeting up to see what I can learn.
