Hello group I'm Sven

Welcome, Sven!
Nice looking car, beautiful paint. I only know Skoda from what I've seen on Top Gear (UK).
If you feel like posting some pictures of the interior and engine, I'd love to see them.

Thanks. The Superb is essentially a rebodied VW Passat, same platform and engines. The engine isn't much to look at as she's a 1.4TSi ACT but she moves well and gets great economy. Put the foot down and she'll sit at what ever speed you want all day.

Thanks for posting those. That is a good looking interior, and I agree, the umbrellas and scraper are a cool feather.
I grew up with the American muscle cars of the late 60's and early 70s and am used to the raw power of a V8, but my Juke's 1.4 turbo, and the similar engine in the Buick Encore I just bought for Mom have really impressed me. Plenty of get up and go, and amazing mileage.

Now you've got me curious to go test drive a Passat.

Though she's a 1.4, she has 148bhp though the Ford Mondeo/Fusion in Europe gets that from it's 1.0Ecoboost engine (I wonder how a 1.0Ecoboost with 148bhp who go down stateside).
When my dad was stationed out in Saudi Arabia we had a Dodge Royal Monaco and when we came back to the U.K. we had a Mitsubishi/Dodge Sapporo GSR.
The U.S. Passat is different to the Passat of Europe.
The U.S. gets the Passat NMS (New Midsize Sedan), which is a retweaked 2011 North American Passat that still has the original engines of the 2011 model.
While Europe got a retweaked smaller engines and deleted the large 3.6 V6 from the range.
The two are quite different beasts.
In the U.K. the Passat is only available in diesel form where Europe gets the full range of engines the Superb gets.

Hi guys. Thanks for the warm welcome. I've been on a U.K. site for five years. Looking to see what else is out there I may of missed.

Hi. Ye', Skoda (Czech) is presently part of the VolksWagen Audi Group, along with SEAT (Spanish) is a company set as an entry level to VW ownership however the cars are that good quite a few leave VW to own a Skoda.
Think of it as a better Passat built on Passat platform and underpinnings, made to look better with added 'convenient features' at VW Golf money.

Hey Sven! Welcome to the forum!

I dont know if you remember me from Oppo or not, but I'm under the same username

What are some of your favorite products to keep that sharp Skoda looking so good?

Cheers guys for the welcome.

I use a lot of Gtechniq and Gyeon products but use some other manufacturers for odds and ends.
Autofinesse ObliTARate is amazing for tar and glue removal.
Bilt Hamber Korrosol and Autowheels for iron removal.
Valet Pro Enzyme Odour Eater for interior carpets and mats cleaning.
I thing in those picture she was cleaned with Bilt Hamber Surfex Degreaser 20:1 ratio along the lower valences, Autobrite Jaffa Clean for the door shuts and cleaning the engine bay, Bilt Hamber Autowheels for cleaning the wheels followed by CarPro Eraser to wipe down and Gyeon Cancoat to seal, car was perwashed with Gtechniq W4 Autofoam through a snow foam lance, rinsed then foamed with Gtechniq Gwash shampoo then 2BM washed with Gwash, rinsed, sprayed with Gyeon Wetcoat, wiped in with a microfibre mitt, rinsed, then dried and finished with Gyeon Cure, Interior was wiped down with Gtechniq I2ab (cleaner and bacterial coat) spray, leather with a damp microfibre as they are sealed with Gtechniq L1ab, plastics dress with Gtechniq C6 plastic restorer for a lovely lustre and non glossy shine, glass cleaned inside and out with Gtechniq G6 glass cleaner, exterior sealed with Angelwax H2GO, engine dressed with 303 Aerospace Protectant, tyres cleaned with Bilt Hamber Surfex Degreaser 10:1 with a stiff nylon brush, rinsed, let dry and dressed with Gtechniq T1 tyre and trim dressing.
I think that's about the lot. It wasn't a full clean just what I'd call a four hour maintenance wash, nothing OTT.
If you've made it this far I think you deserve a coffee. Lol.
