Hello ,

New guy here from just outside of Boston. Site looks cool and hope to learn a bunch. Just ordered myself some stuff from the site yesterday (about 250 worth, yikes!) Grabbed a Pinnacle leather kit and the wax kit that was on sale for 90, a foam gun and some pads and a cobra mitt. Can't wait to wash my car this weekend.

I wanted to know...

I drive an 08 accord coupe I just bought like 2-3 weeks ago. How long should I wait untill I polish that bad boy? I heard to wait like a year from some one.

Welcome to the site. There is no need to wait on polishing or waxing, the vehicles are baked in the factory and are fully cured by the time you buy the vehicle. Make sure you use a clay bar, even new cars have a lot of contamination which needs to be removed with clay.

Hmm, never used Clay bar before. Are they pretty easy to use? Might grab one next time I order.

They are very easy to use and very worthwhile. You could pick some Clay Magic at Autozone or another parts store locally. All you do is wash the car, spray the clay lube and rub (glide) the clay across the paint. It'll remove any contamination on the paint. You won't see any difference after claying but you will be able to feel the difference.

About how often do you clay it? wax ? wash and most importantly about how often do you guys treat your leather? Sorry for so many questions.

Welcome! Go SOX!

Now that I got that off my chest, as was said, polish away. Check out some of the great videos available at AG. They'll help put a picture to the words.

I clay whenever I have to polish swirls or any micro-marring out. You can clay as often as you like as long as you plan on putting in some time on the paint (polish, glaze, wax, etc.). Otherwise, there shouldnt be any need for it. My .02

polish immediately .... nice to see you made it online !

once a month for hot climates ... conditioner that is. I normally only use the cleaner once every 3-6 months. Then again, the car is now mostly a garage queen.
