Hey everyone,

I'm Zack and I live near Columbus, OH. Just bought a new black 2012 F150 that I drive daily, so I've been lurking for a little over a week now trying to figure out how I'm going to keep it in as good of shape as I can.

Looking to learn as much as I can in hopes of keeping my truck as clean and protected as it can be in a state with as variable weather as Ohio.

Thanks for having me.

Hi Zack,

Just to note, black isn't a color it's a full time job.

Check out this article from my article list...

If you don't already own a polisher then I would strongly recommend looking into one of the DA styles,

Meguiar's
Cyclo
Porter Cable
Griot's Garage
Flex 3401

Welcome Zack! I have a black 2011 F-150.

After I got it, I put on 2 coats of DP poliseal over a period of a month or so, and then a coat of DP Max wax after the second one. I use Optimum No Rinse in winter, and a Quick Detailer sometimes.

It stays as clean as anything else that gets driven in midwest winters, it just needs to be washed more often to do it LOL.

Well, was going get you started , but Mike handled it!

Welcome to AGO!
