I detailed my car last weekend by hand. I applied the Gloss enhancer polish , wet diamond, then their carnuba wax. I applied everything with the supplied applicator pads and removed with clean microfiber towels. The next day I took a really close look at the car and noticed there are little swirl marks all over the hood and roof of the car. I am really anal about my car and its killing me to know there are swirls on the car. Did I do something wrong? What can I do to fix this? Any tips or secrets I should use for the next time I detail the car?

By hand is probably your problem....or the swirls were there to start....You got great products , read about random orbitals and lake county pads....

My guess would be the swirls were there before but now that your car is clean and shiny you were able to notice them.

Yea the cars paint wasn't in the best condition, even though it was new. I guess it sat outside for a long time until I bought it. I have been looking into purchasing a flex DA polisher. It looks like it will have to happen sooner than I thought. Thank you guys for your quick replies and advice.

What can I do to remove them? Polish with the Blackfire scratch resistant polish? Should I just wait until i get the polisher?

Yeah, those new cars...you'd think they'd be...er...new, but unfortunately the lot jockeys wash them with brushes and mitts they throw on the concrete floor, but hey, it's ok, right? It's only an expensive new car.

Any chance the swirls are more of a haze? The one thing about BFWD is that it needs to be applied thin. If not, you will get a haze that will eventually go away.

Yea tell me about it. I saw a dealer detailing a car in direct sun. I wanted to smack them upside the head and tell them to take it in some shade. They have no clue what they are doing.

I applied the products very this and it does not look like a haze. I just looks like little swirl marks. I guess before I bought the car they took it thru a car wash over and over.

Working by hand takes a lot of time and effort, and the results you get will not be as good or as consistent. I'd wait until you get a machine, particularly since the Blackfire polish is a diminishing polish, and needs to be worked to get the best result.

Thank you for the advice! Its an extra reason to get the polisher ASAP!!
