Mike or somebody please help a newbie here on what I just ordered before the father’s day sale ends at midnight.(A friend who was at the demo last week sort of helped me)
I have a 2013 dark rich blue Toyota Prius (2 months old)I waxed it with Meguiars ultimate paste wax a few days after I got it. So far so good
I want to do it a lot more professionally now,
So today I ordered the Porter 7424xp cable kit with 5 different pads
I ordered: 2 Pink, 2 Orange, 1 grey pad (get 2 red free)

Orange for swirl remover ???
Pink for Polish????
Gray or red for applying wax????
I'm not sure I ordered the correct color pads at all at this point so confusing
also the dodo juice blue velvet wax 250
and the Pinnacle Twins (Pinnacle Advanced Finishing Polish (AFP) and Pinnacle Advanced Swirl remover)
Basically I don't see that I have swirls on the new paint as of yet.
I understand you use the swirl remover first then the polish then finally the wax.
Of course clay bar first if needed.
I want to use the porter for applying wax and also the polish and swirl remover if needed.
I will use a microfiber cloth to remove wax by hand

what color pads should I have ordered and what about the wax I ordered theDodo blue velvet is that ok on a dark blue brand new 2013 car using the Porter cable 7424xp or should I have picked another model of dodo or buy the Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax instead
Please help here asap, thanks in advance to all.

You are better off purchasing a kit. The PoorBoys kit is cool because the polishes can be used in direct sunlight and the kit comes with Natty's blue wax and a Quick Detailer. You probably need more microfiber towels. There are other kits so take a look. Your Prius is small enough that 30ml pots of Dodo Juice will last YEARS. You don't need 250ml.

Pinnacle Porter Cable 7424 Kit, Lake country ccs pads, polishing pads, porter cable pads, porter cable kit
Poorboy’s Porter Cable 7424XP Polish & wax Kit

The rest of your questions should be answers in the product descriptions. But feel free to ask any clarifying questions you may have after a little more research is performed.

Get more pads too. 2 for each step IMO won't cut it. It's nice to have clean pads handy too.

Also towels, good ones! And you say you'll clay if needed, well most likely it will need it so don't skip it.

thanks , the kit looks like a better deal , hope I can cancel the previous order in the am,
which color pads should I use for swirl remover, polish and wax on a brand new car? (2013 Prius)

What color pad should I use for
swirls
Polishing
Applying wax
on a brand new (2 months) 2013 dark blue Prius
I don't want anything abrasive as the panit looks perfect for now

You said you don't have any swirls ?? Don't polish your car if it doesn't need it. You can apply wax by machine, but on a car that size, and with that wax, it may not be worth it, as that product is pretty easy to apply by hand. That wax is awesome for a blue car IMO.

I bet all you need is a claying, IronX, and a paint cleaner, then wax.

Don't go at your paint with abrasives (polish) if its not necessary. Its a waste of time and clearcoat.

The pad color differ for each line of pads, just go on AG and read the descriptions. If you don't have swirls or defects, you just need a finishing pad and a light paint cleaner.

Out of what you ordered, red is for wax

I didn't know that polish is abrasive, no swirls so far that I see.
So the dodo blue velvet is good, can I use it with the porter with a red pad after I clay bar the car. (is each color of dodo for different color cars ?) So when do you use polish, sounds like I bought way to much stuff, It sounds like all I should do is clay bar the car & put on a good wax. hope I can change the order in the am.

I would definatelly apply a paint sealant before applying a wax. Since you already waxed the car you will need to strip the wax using a hard wash or dish detergent. A paint sealant will protect your clear coat for a very long time and you can apply wax on top of it once it has cured to increase protection and improve shine.

The rest has already been said ;)

Are you 100% sure there are no swirls? Even if you don't have much a fine polish still wouldn't hurt, like menzernas sf4500. Pair that with a red/black/blue pad and you are good to go. No need for orange pads.

What paint sealer to you recommend I use , can it be put on with the porter?

IMO all the sealants are good. Some are better here and there but top it with a good wax and do general upkeep and you will be satisfied with the results.

I assume paint sealer is different than paint polish?
