A while back I started a thread - helpguyspolishesandcompounds - mostly asking about the best products to use on my black 2009 Dodge Dakota. All the advice was great and I finally went with the Wolgang line (swirl remover, glaze, sealer). It did an amazing job, all the swirls are gone and the truck looks 100 times better. Sorry I don't have pics of the process, my wife was in Florida with our camera when I was doing the truck.
However, even though every swirl is gone, there are still a number of scratches in the paint, that should be removable. Here's what I did so far: clay, WG Total Swirl Remover with a yellow LC pad, taped everything off, small passes with my 7424XP - then I moved on to the Glaze, white LC pad - then onto the sealer with a black pad. Again, I'm very pleased with how well it removed the swirls, but it didn't do much for the scratches and I'm talking scratches that are not through the clear. I even tried some Ultimate Compound (just because I had some in the garage) with a yellow pad, but that didn't work either.
Here's my question: most of these scratches are not through the clear, so should my next step be Meguiars 105 and a yellow pad?
Thanks in advance
