I detailed a truck today and there
was alot of old wax on the black trim
from the guy that waxed it before me
How to get that off???
:Picture:

Fine vinyl brush, and some APC. Something like a toothbrush usually works for me. Just gently agitate, then wipe clean with an MF.

Gently use an ink eraser, the wedge shape works very well to get into tight areas.

Never tried this, but what do you guys think of clay lubed with a Dawn solution??? Since both Dawn and Clay can remove wax, it just might do the trick.

I would say that the clay would just get stuck on the textured plastic. I don't see that working. But who knows.

try peanut oil on a microfiber. rub thoroughly and follow with an APC to remove the oil.

can you specify on ink eraser such as a brand name thanks.I find the apc and tooth brush method is not effective and reappears when it's dry thanks.

Use Mothers Back to Black Trim Cleaner, even comes with a brush.

Will that work with wax baked on trim for 2 years,or is this for immediate removal like 2 weeks.

Don't know about 2 years, but wax that has been on for a few months.

I've used invisible glass foam spray for caked on and it removes it without effort. There was a time when it was on a window trim and I had to let it sit for a min before using a mf cloth to rub off.

Go with the Mothers Back To Black Heavy Duty trim cleaner. I used it just today for this situation and it was excellent: View attachment 48265View attachment 48266
Note that this is the CLEANER not the RESTORER. The restorer is a cover up product or for use after you have cleaned it to bring back the black

I tried the eraser and it looked good for a short time but came right back.

It came back all the way?

I found mine came back about 25% of what it was. It comes back less and less each time.

The Mothers Back to Black Heavy Duty Trim Cleaner worked too. Use a lot and scrub with the included brush.

I've used citrus cleaner and a magic eraser, that worked for me in the past.
