Help me choose

Going to buy a DA right now cant decide. I really want the FLEX but I am only purchasing a DA for a wax job I am going to be doing next week. (getting tired doing wax by hand).
If anything I will be buying the FLEX soon. Using whatever DA I buy today for just waxing and a backup and the flex for correction.
Unless yall can convince me just to buy the flex now lol As of right now I am not doing correction work for clients. So keep this in mind.
From a biz point of view what would be practical way to go: PC kit, Griots Kit or maybe Flex kit? (With only waxing in mind!)

Keeping in mind I love my GG6 the PC/XP is a bit smaller. You can use it now for wax and in the future you can use it for wax and correction with small pads like 3 and 4" for tight areas, the flex can be big for some tight spots. So my vote is PC/XP

PC takes the lead with one vote! lol but good point about PC being smaller for those tight spots
 
Porter Cable 7424XP without a doubt. Lays down sealants and waxes so easily. Even though I prefer waxing with a paste wax by hand.

I have been seeing threads about problems with the Griot's and Meg's DA's. But none to little with the PCXP. Either of those machines will work fine. But my PC has been working for 2 years strong and doesn't show a sign of being tired.

PC gets my vote!

Oh and here is a nice polisher and pad kit!

If you’re in the market for a dual action polisher, look no further than the Porter Cable 7424!
 
This seems like a no brainer to me. Go with the Flex. It's awesome. You will have the best of both worlds then. It can easily lay down wax and it can correct paint almost as good as a rotary.

Why waste the money on a PC when you know you'll be buying a Flex in the near future anyways? Waste your money on some overly priced waxed and charge more!:xyxthumbs:

Yes good point :xyxthumbs: im also getting my bro into detailing so was thinking he could learn on something like the PC and big daddy Flex for me lol
 
Update GG6 gets another vote from a buddy of mine couple citys away. Also pointing out about the warranty.
Ill be making my decision by 12am central time. keep the votes coming in!

If you have the money go flex. If you don't have the money for the flex but have the money for the griots go with the griots. I have a pc and gg and the pc sits in the bag

Not a new vote but support for my earlier vote:D
I have the GG6 while it's a great tool and if your plan was to only have one DA then that's it. But, if you plan on the 3401 in the future and only want it for wax now then the smaller lighter PC is on top. The GG6 is bigger and heavier. Plus for future use it will do spot detailing better than the bigger, bulkier Flex. So my thought is to have one big powerful tool 3401 for the big stuff then the smallest, lightest for wax and tight areas. All the tools are awesome so you really can't go wrong. :props:

+1 for your input. Makes sense. Lighter/smaller PC for something like simple waxing would be easier than dragging around the Flex. And yes no doubt the are all great tools.

For da I've always leaned towards the GG6. But man it's hard not to pass up the Flex. As long as the old lady doesn't find out if I go with the flex hehe

I put on Collinite 915 with my Flex with 6 1/2" pad and it worked out much better than with my PC. With the PC like everyone says 5 1/2" pad is better and the Flex with 6 1/2 was much quicker to wax the truck.
 
Go flex, you get the best of both worlds and if you ever want to "dumb-down" to a PCXP or GG6 for waxing, consider getting P21S applicators and do the sealing/waxing by hand. The time difference between machine vs. man is minimal for sedans but admittedly machine may be faster for vans and higher. With a P21S applicator I can get any tight corner and can level out the sealant/wax quite easily. For me, for some reason, these applicators permit me to move much faster than a jeweling pad, mf applicator, etc....

For the vehicle I am going to wax next was going to go with Collinite 845. And yeah obviously more power and bigger pad will make things go by faster.

Looked up the P21S applicators think ill order them. I have no problem waxing by hand on smaller cars and sedans.
But suvs or vehicles with large body panels, that is why im going to purchase a buffer. Plus me working solo most of the time a buffer will save me lots of energy allowing me to get more details in a day.
Another reason about me wanting to get the flex is cause of the learning curve, of it wanting to "walk" on you thus teaching you to keep the pad flat.
 
I would go for the PC I love mine. Some people say it has a lot of vibration...the only thing I have to compare it with if the Meguires and it's smoother than that. As mentioned if you decide to get the flex down the road it will make a great machine for 3 inch pads. By the way I would buy 3 a three inch backing plate and pads. It's amazing how many areas on a car that it's so much easier to use than the 5.5...
In addition to the 5 inch back plate of course...

My thoughts exactly. I can have someone knocking out smaller areas with something like the PC while I work the Flex.
