Ok so I wanna make sure I have most all that I need before jumping in head first and not having all the products that I need. So this is my inventory. I am looking to be taking care of my cars and making a few bucks on the side taking care of some of my buddies rides.

Also what is a great alt for 16 oz. Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant cause I wont always have 12 hours to let air activate

Sonax full effect, apc, Daytona master/jr speed brush, lug nut brush, fender well and tire brush, tire and trim gel, wheel wax, aluminum polish, 3rd bucket and grit guard

Wash shampoo, wash mitt (never herd of the one you have), master side kick, large mf drying towel,

Tar X, iron X, clay, lube, qd

Masking tape, 2 or 3 different sizes

I'd also get a much less aggressive compound.. You won't need 105 on every correction.. Also get a wax

CarPro eraser, griot prewax cleaner

5" back plate, 5.5" pads

Just naming off anything off the top of my head.. You won't actually neeeddd all of this

No interior work?

I'd skip 105 and get 101 or even d300 and MF pads. Once the paint is corrected all you'll need is 205 for light touch ups. 205 can do wonders when paired with the right pad.

Also get the LC flat pads instead of the ccs pads.

For interior work I will use the APC+ to clean and I have some different protectant for interior. For my wash mitt if you click on it, it will take you to the one I got. I also do have a MF mitt too. The DA polisher kit came with a 5" back plate and pads. For the tape what do you recommend? For wax I have a few I been trying out over the years and really like this megs that I just picked up....Ultimate Paste Wax, but I am always looking to try new products.

The only reason I picked up the M105 was for them OMG jobs. I been reading and seeing how the M205 does a great job with the right pad but how do I know when to use so called X pad with the M205. I mean like how do you know what pad to use for that "job". I planning on picking up a few different compounds to try out....I am still learning acronyms so what is d300?

Also I know you want to use the less aggressive product or how ever they phrase it to get the job done. I am working on getting a Iowa AutoGeek meet up set up to learn new thing and to meet some members. Seems like we have about 6 or so members willing to meet too.

D300 is meguiars microfiber compound. It's really grea stuff with a microfiber cutting disc. Less dusting than m105 and more work time. If you want some 105 I'll send you some just send me a pm.

Also you do a test with say m205 and a white pad or orange pad and check your results. If you like what you see knock out the rest of the car. 205 is very versatile. Definitely keep some in your arsenal.

Foam Polishing Pads

Yellow Cutting 5.5 inch Foam Pad - Use this pad to apply compounds or polishes to remove severe oxidation, swirls, and scratches. It is the most aggressive and should only be used on oxidized and older finishes. Always follow this pad with an orange or white pad and a fine polish to refine the paint until it is smooth.

Orange Light Cutting 5.5 inch Foam Pad - Firm, high density foam for scratch and defect removal. Use this pad with polishes and swirl removers. It’s an all around pad that will work on most light to moderate imperfections.

White Polishing 5.5 inch Foam Pad - Less dense foam formula for the application of waxes, micro-fine polishes and sealants. This pad has very light cutting power so its perfect for pre-wax cleaners.

Gray Finishing 5.5 inch Foam Pad - Composition is firm enough to withstand added pressure during final finishing to remove buffer swirls. It has no cut and will apply thin, even coats of waxes, sealants, and glazes.

Blue Finessing 5.5 inch Foam Pad – Flat pad has soft composition for applying glaze, finishing polish, sealants, and liquid waxes. Flat pad provides full contact with paint surface to minimize the pressure applied by the user.

Compound - Menzerna FG-400

Finishing Polish - Menzerna SF-4000

I been using this chart here for reference ....Compound Chart

The chart is a nice way to compare similar products...

Menzerna FG-400
is new in the Menzerna lineup and works like a dream. FG-400 compound has a tremendous amount of cut while finishing out better than most medium-cut polishes. Menzerna FG-400 is user friendly so beginners and professionals alike

Menzerna PF-2500 is a mid range or medium polish that really holds it's own and will produce a gorgeous gloss and many use it as a 1-step, it's just that good.

Menzerna SF-4000 is one of my favorite finishing polishes. Although it's a finishing polish it still has a decent cut and leaves the glossiest shine. I like to use this in order to make the finish appear wet and usually use it with a gray and blue pad.

Meguiar's M105 can be a bit finicky to use as it works very quickly and if over worked it tends to dry out. This is not a fault but specifically designed to work fast. Many like this compound but it takes a little practice to get used to how it works.

Meguiar's M101
is new on the detailing scene and if I were to choose the Meguiar's duo it would be Meguiar's M101 & M205.

Meguiar's M205 is a really nice polish. This product works with both rotary and dual action polisher and has a nice working time.

I hope this helps a little....:props:

so if i used a orange pad with fg-400 followed with a white pad for pf 2500 then could i use another white pad for sf-4000?

I would say from reading that I would use a blue pad for the SF-4000. Just me tho I am learning here also.

i would say the blue, gray, and red pads are pretty redundant....just pick one for waxing/sealing/glazes
