Help me pick a polish, sealant, top coat wax for Crimson Black

Believe me, I don't want to but I am on the road a lot for business and clients are in and around my car often. It had to be clean and I just do not have the ability to hand wash it every time it needs it. Now that being said I am going to try to keep it as clean as possible on the run with a waterless wash product but I am sure, especially in the winter, I am going to have to do more than that. Now I do have a great friend that has a very good touch less that softens his water and does not reuse so is very good quality, but it does not get a dark car completely clean. Maybe I can do the touch less then finish off with a waterless w/o messing the finish?

Thats what I do when it's really nasty. Run through a touchless and then waterless wash to complete the wash. Hybrid V7 is your friend too, it adds a very high shine and leaves the car super slick so not much sticks to it.

Just an enthusiast but want great protection and shine. I have a Nissan Maxima daily driver that is Crimson Black and want great results but don't have a lot of time to experiment with different combos. Can any of you recommend a great combo that works together and then maybe a detailer that will help maintain the protection to stretch out the necessity for reapplication. I think I am looking for a high gloss wet look. Thank you for any help or suggestions.

As Evan already mentioned, a coating is a great solution for a daily driver. I personally have PBL Paint Coating topped with PBL Sealant & Blackfire BlackICE.

Since you're on the road quite a bit, you may also want to consider OptiCoat or Cquartz . I've had PBL on my mustang since middle of November, so far it continues to bead and sheet water.

Do you feel the Quartz or opticoat are tougher than the PBL? Still would like to know if anyone knows the pros and cons with using the coat all vs the specific paint coating.

Awesome work on your mustang by the way. I love the look of that finish.

Up. Looking for someone with knowledge on the difference between the PBL paint coating and the PBL coat all. Is the coat all as good on the paint?

This is PBL Diamond Paint Sealant, polished with Menzerna, no wax on top of sealant. If I were going to top it I'd go with Blackfire Black Ice.

Ok here you go I had posted this in another thread some time ago when the Black Label line was released.

Question:
Are the specific wheel and glass coatings better for their purpose than the all Surface Coating that can also be applied to glass and wheels?

Answer:
Nick@Autogeek:
Durability is comparable, however I would give a slight edge to Diamond Glass Coating versus Diamond Surface Coating when used on windshields. From my testing, Diamond Glass Coating causes water to roll off the surface at speeds as low as 20 mph, where that speed is about 30 mph for Diamond Surface Coating.

Question:
What is the difference between the "surface coating", the "paint coating" and the "paint sealant"?

Thanks.

Answer:
Nick@Autogeek:
Diamond Surface Coating can be used on paint, glass, and wheels. It was formulated for all surfaces.

Diamond Paint Coating was designed exclusively for use on painted surfaces.

Diamond Paint Sealant is a juiced-up synthetic sealant; it features a resin-base that enables it to create an extremely slick surface that lasts months, not weeks.

Question:
I did not get whether the diamond paint coating has an edge over the diamond surface coating....

Also, I don't see where wheel coating is better than surface coating; however, I did see a difference on coating life in the store: surface coating on wheels-up to 2 years; wheel coating on wheels- up to 18 months....

enlighten please
Not to be snippy, but what's the difference functionally? Is the paint coating a superior coating when compared to the surface coating when both are applied to paint? Will the paint coating bead/sheet better? Does the paint coating last longer than the surface coating?

Answer:
Nick@Autogeek: They're both going to perform equally well on paint. I've found the dedicated paint coating to produce tighter water beading; sheeting between the two is about the same.

Question:
What about why we'd need three separate coatings, and how they differ from one another instead of just going to the all-in-one multi-surface coating? And how it compares to the others in both shine and durability? For that matter, maybe the all-in-one is more like the DP coating?????

Answer:
Nick@Autogeek: Glass and paint are two very different surfaces, so each coating needs to be specially developed to offer the maximum protection ("bonding"). Wheels are exposed to much higher temperatures than glass or paint, so a wheel coating needs to have a greater tolerance to heat. With Diamond Surface Coating, we've managed to combine the best of all 3 surface-specific coatings into one product. It's called having your cake and eating it.

Hope that helps :props:

Wow is that sharp! Nice work. I would be happy if I could yield even close results with the coating.

Evan, thank you, you've been a tremendous help! Now I have a few decisions to make. Anyone know how long the 20% for initial order is good or if it applies to much? Looks like it has a lot of exclusions.

Too new a product to say for certain. I have the surface coating on my vehicle (the coat all product). Two months now for me and glass, paint, and wheels are all bonding strong. I haven't topped it with anything yet.

How do you feel about the shine, beading, and sheeting? Is it a wet look?
