Help needed in japanese single stage oxidated paint

Hello guys .i need your Help in this because i dont want to make any stupid thing.I recently took a flex 3401 with all the lc pads. I want to shine a lit of bit by dads car which is a mitsubishi 2001 with single stage paint and to many oxidation.

MY polish are all the gloss it products from the compounds to the detailing spray.

I am thinking to start with the orange pad and the more agrresive compound(extreme cut) to see how is it?

Your opinions pls

Is it possible it has a clear coat failure? That is it originally had a clear coat finish and now the clear layer of paint is turning white and flaking off?

yes mike iam sure .i tried to polish a spot from the inside and the paiint come out.no it has not a clear coat failure.

To remove oxidation you need to remove the dead paint on the surface, in most cases you want to use the least aggressive product to get the job done as by doing this you get the job done but leave the most amount of paint on the car.

So do some testing with the polishes, compounds and pads you have and see what's working the best on this paint system with your Flex 3401.

Because dead paint is going to be coming off the car you're going to have TWO things building up on the face of your buffing pad.

  • Spent Product - That is used-up product
  • Removed paint

So clean your pads often.

If it is indeed single stage, I have followed this method a pretty well verbatim now 2 times:

It works great, and isn't that hard to do. On one vehicle I had to do it several times, but achieved the results I was looking for.

I suggest anyone that is working on SS paint reads that article. It is truly a great write-up.

If you aren't able to get some of the Meg's #7, I am not a Gloss-It user, so I can't tell you what you should use from their line to try and mimic this.
