I usaually wax my cars by hand, which can take forever after doing a sealant first. I was wondering what kind of buffer would be best for a beginner? Not sure if Buffer is the correct term.

Thanks for the input!

It's called a DA= Dual Action. The 7424 or Udm (ultimate detailing machine) would be what you want. Both are pretty much idiot proof. Meaning you can't do much damage to your paint with either of these polishers. On the other hand, a rotary can and will burn your paint if you don't know what you are doing.

Not sure why you are having trouble applying the wax over your sealant. May I ask what wax you are using as your topper?

NO problems applying wax or anything. Just my arm gets tired! My BIl said I should use a buffer makes it easier and faster.

Wolfgang Sealant and P21s Wax.

I think you should wait for the sealant to cure before applying a wax over it. I've never used the Wolfgang sealant but curing time can vary from just a couple of hours to a full day depending on the sealant. That should give your arm a rest before waxing.

Wolfgang DGPS, DP MaxWax, Pinnacle SSII, Pinnacle Liquid Souveran, and Pinnale Souveran Paste all go on and off like butter for me. Maybe you arent letting the WG cure, you're using the P21S wrong, or you should try a different wax. I havent tried P21S, so I dont know what its like to remove it.

For some reason, I prefer to seal/glaze/wax by hand. I guess I'm just sick of using the machines by the time I get to the point where I'm finally ready to top it.

But yeah the PC7424/UDM are great tools, and you'll have the added benefit of being able to do some paint correction with it.

Most on here don't use a buffer for applying/ removing waxes (some do). The buffers are used more for paint correction with abrasive polishes. Input from past threads show that many people apply and remove wax by hand. Once you get used to it your time will come down and you wont get as arm weary. In fact it becomes therapuetic. WOWO. Thanks guys. I think the problem is that I do both cars completely in one day opposed to waiting for things to cure. I will try curing longer next time around.

Read the directions on the site. It gives you the curing times.
