Help picking a sealant

I need a hand in choosing a sealant. I will be using it on a 2011 Super White Toyota as well as a Birchwood 05 GMC. Needing something that will give 5-6 months of protection from the Kansas weather and compatible with the products I currently have and use. I’ve been using ONR for wash, claying and QD. Menzerna Polishing Compounds, and Poli-Seal AIO. Any help would be greatly appreciated......Kelly

Menzerna Power Lock, Four Star and Wolfgang are all nice sealants. AG just got the line on Blackfire (my favorite) and should be out soon.

I just purchased a 2011 Infiniti FX 35 and had the same dilemma as you. Since its a new car I assummed it didnt need a polish or cleaner so I went with Opti-Seal. It took about 10 minutes and looked amazing.

These sealants work incredibly well. I've personally used and tested sealants 1-8 and all are top performers. I have Prima Hydro Seal but javent tested it yet however reports I've read are impressive.

I also like Collinite 845 wax that I'll apply once the sealant has cured in a dry environment for 10 to 12 hours. This gives added depth, gloss, and protection.

I have tried the Klasse High Gloss, using a super light application (a 1hour + job) and the Opti-Seal (a 10 minute job). I also had to go back and clean up the Klasse area's I missed. Did'nt notice much difference compared to Opti-Seal. In your experience is it worth the time and effort to use Klasse instead of Opti-Seal?

I just did a test comparing Optimum Opti-Seal to Ultima Paint Guard Plus last weekend. The finish was clayed, polished, washed, dried and then products applied to separate sections.

Both went on super easy and are very glossy. I'll monitor both and this will tell me how they stack up against one another.

Klasse High Gloss Sealant is more of a traditional sealant and like you said, it takes about an hour to apply and buff off. This product works very well and possesses one of the longest protection according to its manufacturer.

This really boils down to personal preference and whether or not one performs better than the other and whether it's worth the extra 50 minutes.
 
Thanks, for the quick responses. I think I'll give the opti-seal a try. It sounds like its easy to apply and should work well with the ONR and poli-seal that I already have. If I need more correction I can go to the Menzerna and wipe down with IPA then hit it with the Opti-Seal.

UTTG, WGDGPS or 845(hybrid) are my choices.
Opti-coat 2.0 is an awesome solution that will last a lifetime!
 
Duragloss. You'll be hard-pressed to find something that lasts longer and is cheaper.
 
I honestly don't see very many sealants actually last 6 months...Once tight beading is gone, IMO protection is weak...Powerlock will loose it's beading/sheeting ability in 3 months on a daily driver (DSMS test, DB forum), polycharged sealants might last you more, depending wheather car is garaged or not, how often washed and milage driven...if you want something to REALLY LAST, try out Collinite 845 or even better - 476s...another option would be Duragloss 601/105 combo...These meant to last, by that I mean beading/sheeting/ease of cleaning...
If you want something to last EVEN LONGER check out Cquartz nano coating...

how long is meant a lifetime? BMW says their transmission fluid is guaranteed for lifetime (they call 7 years/100k miles a lifetime)...
I'm sure Opti-coat is durable, but I have hard time believing it will last 10+ years...
 
Hands down UPGP its fast and leaves a hard candy coating its the bomb...:xyxthumbs:
 
I use Wolfgang and Pinnacle liquid soveran - which is part carnuba, part sealant. Both are excellent.

I prefer the Pinnacle LS on my GF's white Nissan which benefits from the thicker carnuba layer to help it shine IMO, but both look good.

I also like Klasse SG but it requires a lot more work and more coats to look as good..
