Help! Please! I sanded through my clear coat

Looks like it is going to have to be repainted.

And maybe some blending (hopefully just to that panel)

The shop won't be able to shoot clear to just that nickel size spot.

If the color isn't harmed here is what I would do. Buff the area to bring back the shine. Wipe the entire panel down to remove any wax. Then shoot some clear on the area. Light coats. It will look bad until you wetsand the area to blend the clear and knock down the overspray. Just make sure to get good quality clear from a reputable online supplier. I would not use any clear that can be had at the auto parts stores. It always seems to be too dark and doesn't hold up well. If it were my car that is what I would do. If it comes out like crap then consider the professional repair. But you may be quite surprised at the outcome of just shooting some clear on it.
