Help! Removing streaks left on hood after using Optimum Car Wax

All that is true and yes, judging is judging and sometimes it's over the hill... But at the same time he's presenting himself and or that product, which looks like he's an employee of, and the overall standards of detailing appear so low based on those wicked swirls. At least have enough sense to..... Black paint. Nuff said.

I refer you to my comments below. We have absolutely no idea what is going on. For all we know he pulled right up to this car and was going to do some paint correction and figured he had a black car in a hot sunny day. Perfect example to showcase the application of the product.

It reminds me about Dylan's sniper article with everyone so worried about what others are doing instead of focusing on themselves and helping the community out.

clearly he didn't prior to making that video. The spider lines and swirls are very noticable in that video.

Lol My point was how does anyone know if he polished the car afterwards. The thing is we don't unless Dann said he did or didn't.

I totally get it. I was a part of a derailed thread here on that very topic of customers and what they want and are willing to pay for an in some cases it's not a full paint correction.

Ironically though, shine isn't all about an LSP, in fact I would argue it's far more related to the prepration and correction. You can put the best Ceramic Coating on an uncorrected surface and it won't look nearly as good (shine as much) as a finely polished one that has no LSP or coating on it.

Mirroring what Eldorado noted, I only picked on him in good fun because he works in the industry and chose to use a car that is in serious need of correction for the video.

The average joe has no idea what paint correction is. All they car about is make my car shiny. They equate shiny paint to waxing. I have faith in Dann explaining and educating his former customers on what the difference is.

On 2nd thought, its still unforgivable. Lol. And if he polished the paint Afterwards.... That would make his judgment to showcase the spraywax on the paint in that condition even worse! Smh. I don't care if he was in danger of running out of sun [which it didn't look like] or not.. Use better judgement dude. It's black swirled to fug paint. He's showing that to detailers. The very 1st thing that sticks out like a sore thumb is that nasty paint. I lost any interest in whatever product he was showing because he pretty must lost all attention for not having enough sense to take care of basic rule #1

That vid, with that paint shouldn't have been about anything but addressing those swirls. Not some spray wax that smeared to death and top it off did absolutely nothing to even hide those swirls.
There's a time to do things and a time not to do things... And that was not the time.. He could've and should've picked any other trunk except that 1. It's just basic common sense.

Dann is an awesome guy. His podcast has tons of advice for detailers. Shame some choose to just criticize all the time.

I've listened to the podcast a couple times. I'm not familiar with who the hosts would be. It's nothing personal, just an honest critique of that perticular video.

I had this same problem on black toyota paint and my black SS. Thought I was over applying, also tried just spraying the microfiber. In the end I had to use a finish Polish to remove it. I don't use OCW on black paint anymore.
