After a hard days work, I washed my Cobra's and unfortunately tossed in my Meguiars bone (sponge covered in Microfiber) along with the towels. I've done this before and its never been a problem but this time the bone split and the sponge inside is not one solid piece of foam but more like a shapeless loosely bonded foam and it's kinda splattered across all my towels. The cobra's are now contaminated by this spongy hair like ...errr...sponge and its refusing to come out. I've washed twice to no avail and I've even tried a sticky lint remover roller but the millions of tiny MF hooks are holding onto the sponge bits very hard...here are some pics.

Any suggestions will be very welcome...I love these towels...they're almost brand new and and I just got a big order in so am all out of my AG budget...

Help....please....

Well, you can try vacuuming the towels, you can try using a pet hair brush like this

but I don't know if that will work or not, or you can just pray for patience and try picking all the pieces out by hand. Whatever you decide to do, I wish you luck! :xyxthumbs:

Toss them out or use them under the hood if they dont lint.

In all truth, that probably is your best bet. Might not be a good idea to use them on the paint. Although if you did manage to get the sponge lint out (perhaps using some of my aforementioned methods), you could relegate them to interior duty or dirty work, that way they don't go to waste. Not negating what I said earlier, just that I'd find another use for them as opposed to throwing them out.

I had a similar problem. As the OP suggested, try a pet hair brush. I used a one-way, velcro-like lint brush to get the worst out and loosen the rest. Then I sat in front of the tube watching football with a pile of MF at my feet and picked it out by hand and tweezers. There ain't no easy way.... :awman:

Have fun... TL

might be a sneaky way to get more MF towels ... but this comes from a MF towel junky.

:iagree:I wouldn't risk it.

:iagree: Don't risk it, demote them to "under the hood duty". If you PM or call Meghan with your sad story (Meguiars bone comming apart) mabe she'll help you out with the shipping or something on some new ones. She is oh so sweet.... I know you already know; but just remember you should never wash anything with your MF towels.:nomore:

Wash them on high heat with two large size cotton beach towels that have been washed previously - That should return the microfiber to like new condition. Tumble Dry on medium to low heat.

I had a very similar issue happen. I ended up using it for household use.

Folks
Thanks a lot for all the suggestions. I'll try all of em out (nothing to lose) and let you know if any particular one worked...

Thanks again..

I've had this happen, but not as bad as yours looks. I've had a little piece of foam here and there get stuck in a microfiber and picked them out by hand without a problem. Luckily, the clumps came out all in one piece without any little remnants getting left behind in my experience.
