Help Wanted: Trim Restoration Testing

Do you need addresses to send the stuff? I was planning to by the WG ETS this week anyway so I will can test and compare the stang and the Jeep for all our benefit. Let me know so I can PM you my addy.
Thanks

Sorry, I'm not ignoring you all I'm just on my phone right now. I will review this thread tomorrow but it looks like I have enough interest. I will contact you for your address if I don't have it already. If you plan to buy the Wolfgang or Ultima sealant, that's great. I just wanted to provide everything since I started this. Thanks everyone!

What kind of trim? plastic? rubber?

I should be more specific, for my test I'm looking for stuff like dew wipes, part or all of a wiper cowl, and similar black trim. The reason for black is because it shows everything, but in reality it's not limited to black... :D

I have a 98 ford contour that I would gladly use it on. I washed it yesterday and said to muself....man that plastic looks like crap. It would be the wiper cowl

IF you need another my cowl on my truck is pretty faded. UTTG seems to work decent, but Id be willing to try your method/product and document it. Id be willing to do it weekly.

Send me your address. Going to the post office tomorrow so I'll throw yours in too.

Here's an idea of what the processed looked like after my first trial run with this process using a micro fiber towel. I will be including a cotton terry towel.

Mothers B2B (x3) on left, faded trim on right (before)

After 1 application of product "X"

This shows what Ultima Tire & Trim Guard looks like on top of product "X"

Go Moms B2B! Disappointing as all get-out compared to anything. UTTG is gonna be hard to beat. We'll if WG ETS will out last it.:)

Don't get too excited over B2B, it was gone after 2 weeks.

Sent my address over. Do you want the reviews on this thread or should we start new ones in the review forum?

Excellent point.:props: I will gather pictures and start a new thread but keep it in Auto Detailing 101.

I want to remind everyone, this is nothing major in my opinion so I don't want to hype it all up. It's just a simple experiment with a product not advertised for trim restoration, nothing more.

Yesterday, Richard was kind enough to privately let the cat out of the bag on the secret product he was going to send out. Lucky for me, I had some on hand so I went to work on the cowl of my wife's '06 Hyundai Elantra.

Here's a picture showing the cowl taped up in preparation of a 50/50. Notice how faded the plastic looks.

And here's a 50/50 after working in the product and removing the tape.

At this time, I'm not at liberty to spill the beans on what was used. I'll let Richard do that when he sees fit.

Looks sweet, so is that just the prep step or prep and then a trim product.

Is this using the tip Ron provided about using an acid product on the trim for prep?

Btw:This thread is worthless without information! Im the MAN

Just kidding Richard! Im the MAN

I didn't prep the surface at all before I did what I did. Whether that proves to be a downfall, only time will tell.

There was no acid used on this trim. Only the "secret" product and a terry cloth. There may be better ways to apply it, but terry cloths are cheap and I didn't want to ruin a good MF towel.

Looks awesome! Can't wait to see durability and what it is.

I haven't tried Ron's prep step yet, but I imagine it will extend durability. I had about 5 months durability through touchless washes and bi-weekly hand washing, all without UTTG or WGETS. I even did an ipa wipe with no effect to the process. I'm out in Tad country right now and left my stuff at my apartment, was going to have the wife ship it out this week. If you all want I can tell you what to use and just mail the WGETS samples when I get back. I'll let the majority decide :)
