Help With Aerospace 303 on Dash

Today, I reapplied 303 to my dash after first cleaning it with 1z Einszett Cockpit Premium.

I sprayed 303 on the foam pad liberally until it was almost soaked and then applied it over a large section of the dash board working it into the dash with plenty of wiping action.

I then wiped off any and all access and my dash once again looks great.

No residue whatsoever!

Outside of that I'm going to have to say it was dirty or had some sort of film /previous residue on it, or the previous damage others have discussed from sun or overly harsh cleaners.

I have never experienced the uneven finish, chalkiness, or sun shadowing on any vehicle until using this product. I bought a bottle in August and have used it twice since then.

I have cleaned the dash with Meguiar's Quik Interior Detailer and reapplied the 303 cross-hatch and then in a circular pattern to ensure an even film. It was wiped dry with a fresh microfiber. It still doesn't have an even look to the finish, with some areas shiny and others more dull.

It is raining here today. I will take some pictures when I get good light, and report back with any changes.

I think your after wipe may be your problem. You need to wait like 10 minutes to do the after wipe as it is to just remove the excess. And when you do it should use almost no pressure.

Sorry I have not reported back sooner. Clouds and rain haven't helped with the analysis.

I have not retried the rubout/after wipe, but wanted to share some pictures. The first picture shows some swirling from the microfiber that showed up several days later. The second is a smudge from a thumb or something. In the third picture you can see a hazy band running the length of the dash near the lower shadow. The fourth pic shows surface marks from gently dragging the back of my fingernail across the surface.

I don't know what to make of this. Any more suggestions are appreciated.

I always use a plastic cleaner first. Then wipe the plastic cleaner residue, until I see the dashboard, how can I put it, rough, not sticking. Sometimes I clean one day and apply 303 next day, sprayed over a clean mf cloth. I use Sonax Plastic Cleaner. I even use SPC on trims, before 303. 303 is the best, imho. Best regards. RPM

How does this product differ from the Meguiar's Quik Interior Detailer that has already been recommended?

I believe the Meguiar's Quik Interior Detailer is more 'oily', there is more lubricant on it, thus more prone to the ocurrence of film. A plastic/vynil cleaner is more like a soap, with tensoatives and surfactants in its formula. You could also try some heavily diluted, neutral, good quality dish detergent in a mf, and clean it with a wet mf later, it won't hurt. My guess and humble opinion is that you have to remove the oil residue before applying the 303. :xyxthumbs:

Most Meguiars OTC dressings contain petroleum distillates, which I'm not a fan of.
