I recently bought a Flex 3401, Flex PE and uber amounts of pads, product and accessories.

After washing and using a nanoskin mit, I moved onto the sealing part of my process.

I pulled out my new Flex 3401, put on a green (as recommended to me to use with the BF by AG), sprayed it with one spray of BF pad conditioner, primed the pad as shown in Phil's book, and started using it. However for the life of me, not matter how long I did a small section, I could never get the product to disappear and ended up having to buff.

Thinking I may have too much product on the pad, I pulled out another new green one, and proceeded to simply put a bit of product on the pad with no priming. Same thing. No matter how much or how littler product I used on the car, I could never get the product to disappear and always had to buff it off.

What am I doing wrong? Is it maybe the wrong pad? I started at one and worked the Flex up to a 5/6 as instructed.

I specifically bought the TPS as I was attracted to the claim on the website "spread the product over a 2 sq. ft. area of paint. Set the speed to 5 and work the product over the area. Continue to polish until product disappears. It does not require buffing. " so I could minimize strain on my bad shoulder.

Any help is appreciated!

I've used it many time with great success, but I have always buffed it off.

Looks like to me you have a valid point, hopefully someone from AG can chime in on this thread.

This is from the AG product page:

All you have to do is apply BLACKFIRE Total Polish & Seal and buff it off! Wet Diamond shine in one step!

Directions:

Work out of direct sunlight. Apply a circle of Total Polish & Seal onto a foam polishing/finishing pad. With the polisher turned off, spread the product over a 2 sq. ft. area of paint. Set the speed to 5 and work the product over the area. Continue to polish until product disappears. It does not require buffing.

I have used BF TPS several times and always had to buff. I do like the results so i don't really mind.

Huh. Either we're all using it incorrectly (which I doubt) or it appears the label is not accurate.

So I guess this product isn't going to help me minimize strain on my bad shoulder.

My experience with AG has been nothing but fantastic and they seem to be a great company. I hope they update the web site so it is not misleading.

I have never used TPS, but I have used XMT 360 which makes the same claim. For the most part, the product does disappear as it is being worked. When I have used that sometimes there is a tiny bit left that wipes off super easy. I would not even call it buff of because a simple wipe of a towel removes the residue. That truly might be the easiest to use all in one via machine there is.

I've always had to buff it off, love the stuff buffs off super easy
