I was driving back home coming through Michigan. I was close to Lake Erie, so there were plenty of bugs. I came upon a cloud of bugs.....there were millions. It was so bad, after I cleared the cloud I had to pull over to the first service station to clean my windshield, which was nearly blacked out. The bugs were small(ish) and weren't Fishflies (MayBug or JuneBug to others)
When I got home, I immediately sprayed all the bugs off. The bugs bodies themselves came off, but the splatters remained. I used some Turtle Wax Bug and Tar remover I had in the garage, which has worked in the past. Not this time. Although the physical splatter/guts came off, it seems as though they have stained my paint (I think). When you rub your finger over the splatter, you can't feel anything. It's like a water stain of sorts.
Anyone have any advice for how I can deal with this? I'm a bit gutted, as I had completely buffed/polished/waxed/sealed the car only a couple months ago...if that.
Here are a few pics..again you can't actually feel these marks with your fingers...
