I used Gummi Pfledge on some rubber seals on a 2011 Mercedes E550 and got this spotting after I washed it. I tried rubbing it out and the spots won't go away. Any suggestions?

Did you clean it with a good APC before applying Gummi? If you did, try putting another coat.

Yes it was cleaned very well... I've put several coats on before washing it... Before the wash it looked fine. Now its kind of like only parts of it got absorbed making it look spotted... Maybe I should clean it again with APC or an IPA wipedown?

Had this problem before, I used carpro eraser a few times, and it helped, heavy apc and a small brush should do the trick! :)

That looks like hard (rubber) trim on the outside of a window? I only use Gummi Pfledge on the soft rubber like the inside door seal or sometimes around sunroofs. For that hard exterior stuff I use something like WETS or UTTG.

Never had issues with it either. But also just used it on the soft weather stripping. Great product, until the foam dispenser craps out. lol. Then i just get a cotton ball and apply it directly.

You need to remove the foam head and wash and dry before capping. If you are using Gummi frequently there's no need to wash and dry.

It was a brand new bottle though?

Gummi-whatever-it's-called is only for rubber seals that aren't really exposed to much sunlight or water. It doesn't have much UV protection. It's primarily for the seals in the door frame and under the hood/trunk.

I have this problem with my C250 all the time. Best thing to do is make sure you really really dry those things after a wash. But once they are there, I've had success with something like Meguiar's #40 or Natural Shine on a microfiber and just working it into the surface till they're mostly gone.
