Hi.. Been dabbeling in the car detailing world for the past 10 years and WOW have I been doing things wrong. thanks to this forum and other info around the net been finally getting my cars clean and staying clean..
I do have an issue. I have custom powder coated wheels on a car i drive to shows. They are sparks orange. so an orange color with some gold flake. they are covered in a matte clear finish. For the life of me I can't get them clean. I get these black smudge marks that look somewhat like orange peel in the finish but black in color.
Cleaning process is I remove the wheels and spray with water. I then use Iron X to remove any deposits. Was the only thing that was working for the tough bedded brake dust and also use sonamx. I get the wheels clean but not perfect. I have tried a few different things on the wheels but found that Klasse all in one works the best for getting most of the stains out.
It takes me hours to get them clean but still not perfect. I was thinking of using CQuartz but was worried about the Matte finish. I have used opti coat on my other cars wheels. has been okay but not crazy about the new version.
Hence why I was going to look into the CQuartz. Thinking CQuarts Finest. Even maybe airbrushing it on for better coverage. At this point I just want to protect the wheels and keep them clean and make them a bit easier to clean espeically when i drive to a show I want to be able to wipe them down. any help would be great!!!!
