I do most everything by hand. Someone recommended to take it to a shop for the initial detailing, then do it all myself.
Anyone know a good shop in the western suburbs of Illinois?
Thanks for the quick replies.
For a really nice look, apply a sealant like Menzerna Powerlock, let it cure for half a day, then apply the Zymol Concours on top of it.
Hey swanicyouth , you don t sweep the Menzerna , just go straight with the Zymol ! sorry , just a newbee trying to learn , thanx
No, you don't need to sweep the Menzerna. However, applying a sealant (like Powerlock) under a traditional carnuba wax (like Zymol) gives a better look and durability than either product alone in my opinion. You should try it!
Thanx for the comeback , I would need to buy them first ! lol , but took some notes .
Would this combo work on a freshly repainted car , met silver .
You have to ask the painter how long he recommends letting the paint cure or "out gas". If it was "freshly painted" as in we are talking about a new car painted from the factory, you can wax or seal it immediately.
I feel you should have at least one good wax and one good sealant on hand if you are into detailing. There are a lot of great choices that aren't all that expensive. Also, you can get quite a long use out of a bottle of sealant, as you apply it very thinly. It may take less than 1/2 ounce to seal a whole car!
