I just noticed this today. Yesterday I went through the touchless car wash and got to doing a rinseless today. I've cleaned trim before using Klasse AIO and Duragloss 105. Both clean trim very well, but this staining looks a like it could be more stubborn.

Additionally, I was wondering what you guys use to clean trim normally, because I plan on coating my trim in the next months or so. I figured I might as well ask the question now while solving this issue.

Here's the pictures:

A lot of times those pillars are vinyl wrapped and can be a real pain. As you note something that's a very light cleaner and non-staining like KAIO seems to work best. If you are going to coat perhaps something like Optimum Finish might be a good prep.

Okay I'll be sure to try that. I believe we have some Optimum Finish at work.

I'm actually not sure how a coating is going to play with that vinyl wrap surface, if that's what it is.

Soultion finish or UTTG?
Isn't Solution Finish for faded trim? My trim has almost always had a sealant (BFWD, DG 105, or Collinite 845) and isn't faded, but it is stained pretty ugly.

That happens to the Wife's Toyota Sienna since new. A real pain in the a**.
I have found that using Menz Po85 and a light cutting pad removes the stains and dead plastic very well and now I cover it with Collinite 476S which has seemed to make it better. An interesting thing I have found also is just using DG 601 removed the stains also.

Since it's plastic then a regular sealant would work as well as some polish. My mom's 96 regal has them and I just use M205 and seal them with whatever sealant I use at the time.

I've had great success with DP paint prep on smooth trim.
