Help ~ Wool twist pads for Flex L3403VRG

Flex L3403 Specs say max pad = 6.5" Can I use a Meguiars Solo 7 inch Wool Heavy Cutting Pad? I don't see any heavy cut (twisted Wool) pads smaller then 7".

I've got a 1984 20' inboard ski boat to polish. Just bought the buffer to use seasonally on my boat so I don't think I'll wear it out just worried about over working it. I see hybrid wool foam pads and electrafied pads available in 6.5" and smaller but I believe they are both finer finishing pads. I have some dock bumper scuffing and heavily oxidized top surface that I will need to polish out.

You can use that pad, but the 3403 tends to run hot. Before changing to the PE-14, my 3403 would thermally shut down from a long compounding session. You will need to do smaller areas and take frequent breaks to let the 3403 cool down.
 
Thanks sonofoc, I'm sure i'll over heat first.

Also I'm open for suggestions if anyone has a bettter pad choice for polishing gel coat.

I dont have much info for ya, but thats a sweet ass boat.:props:
 
Thanks!!! It actually has some SWEET 80's blue / silver metal flake in the gelcoat ~ but with that comes metal flake fade.
