Here it is! BOSS - Best of Show System

I haven't used one, but I can't imagine that it is restricted to griot pads. You can use any type of pad on a Rupes, some just perform better than others.

Yes system will perform better with the system pads. But as we all know pads and their performance are particular to the user. I recommend trying the Griot's pad with the machine but it's not to say you can't make it work with pads you have in your arsenal. Experiment that is the fun part of detailing.

Hey Meghan

You must be so happy to have a show truck shine on your Denali...beautiful truck...looks amazing

Well, Rupes clone or not, I have to admit I like the look and the ergonomics of the handle. GG have always marketed a great DA polisher with an excellent warranty -- regardless of the origin of its parts. I still reach for my GG6 plenty of times. It's price is comparable to the Rupes. I'd give it a chance if I were in the market.

I admit id like a u.s. made product but like that would happen.

I would like to see a write up on this or even a side by side comparison would be great.

Back in the day, I was a tester for D-300 and the microfiber cutting discs.

Before the product was released there was no small contention going on re: the product(s), this was on DB and low and behold some guy said HE KNEW already how the product worked(Cutting discs) because he used microfiber bonnets stretched over foam pads..................... long story short I basically told him he knew zip and the fight was on.

Funny how this is being repeated once again on this product intro..................btw I was one of the testers over the last six months.

This is why I do not participate on the forums any longer.
That's sad to hear because I bet you have an enormous amount of wisdom to offer.

My question is about pads I have B/S, Lake Country and some others and I have some money in them..

Will I be able to use them on this new polisher ?

Sure you can use any pads you like with this machine. I used all of my pads with it. :xyxthumbs:

As a long time Griots customer (since 2005) I'm glad to read about this! It may have looked like Griots was sitting on the sidelines but obviously this wasn't the case at all. Not only does this machine look to be a quality piece but they've developed an entire system here including the pads to 2 polishes, finishing creme and sealant.

Congrats to Mr. Griots and the company on not rushing this out to be apart of the herd, slow and steady wins the race🏁

I am getting a FLEX 3401 and was also going to get a RUPES but this may replace the RUPES???

According to Jeff Brown the new Boss 5.5" pads weigh 23 to 27 grams and of course work best. I checked with B&S and as an example the 5.5" Orange light cutting pads weigh 22.6 grams so they should work as well as on any other large throw DA.

I like my 21 Rupes but the boss has things the Rupes should've had from the get go. The warranty that Griots off blows Rupes out of the water and the variable trigger is going to be great.

So you posted just to say you don't post, got it.

Anyway, I'm sure plenty of reviews will be up soon enough.

Always better when you do not cherry pick a quote utilize the whole quote so it is in context , I posted because a good product that I had first hand knowledge of(As I tested it for almost six months) was being attacked with assumptions and presuppositions.

How would you feel if you developed a good product only to have people nip at it WITHOUT any knowledge at all? as you were trying to launch the product…………. some people will always assume the buffer is bad just because forum experts said it was and that can hurt sales sometimes in a significant way and is unfair.

It's the Internet, skeptics a plenty and no place for thin skin.

Also, life isn't always fair but you have to deal with it.

Your reply is a cop-out, this has nothing to do with being thin skinned as peoples livelihoods depend on product lines.

Life is not fair as you stated, but not telling the truth or having a "Opinion" which was founded on nothing just exposes the opinion maker as having a agenda or worse not being very smart.

Which category does your "Opinion" fit into?.

Im not the one saying I used something for 6 months but wont talk about about it cause of the big bad meanies on the internet.....that is a cop-out.

Oh brother…………… like a man who has lived underground all his life espousing that the sun does not exist.

I HAVE talked about the BOSS system, you have not seen this obviously but much like your first two comments on this thread you have a strong or should I say totally self convinced mindset on things you know not of.

I used to share everything I did on the cars(Products, methods, etc…….) but guys like you ruin it for me and everyone else being dishonest and having bias and or a agenda or just talking out of their southern portions.

Had you initially said…….. "For me the price point just does not make sense, but hopefully I will get a chance to use the machine and see what the buffer and products together can do".

Had you said that I would have no problem with you………….however……………. about that cop-out thing.

I'm not going to jump off the couch right away and buy something I know nothing about, just because some major detailing company is releasing a new product, NO. I'm going to be skeptical about it, just like a lot of other people are, it's going to happen. People are going to ask questions. And how you deal with it has a big impact on how well your sales go. Instead of taking it like a baby maybe he should discuss things a little further so I know where he's coming from. After getting scolded from him I feel like I should be put in prison or something

i think some are still waiting for more reviews/vids and also see if there are any problems with them as well. when you spend that kind of money, I'm sure some aren't in a hurry to buy one. gotta have patience sometimes...

Sure different than the experience I had with Jeff. I had a number of questions regarding the BOSS--exchanged a number of emails with Jeff--he answered my questions gratiously and in detail. Great experience.

How can they claim to "reinvent" paint correction when this machine is clearly Rupes clone/knockoff? I've got to be honest, I'm disappointed in autogeeks affiliation with griots garage. Griots has always been overpriced, chemicals/products are -meh (at best) and their machines all seem to be knockoffs of others innovation... I honestly expect more from autogeek.
