Hey, just wanted to atop in and introduce myself. My name is Scott I'm 23 and I'm from the Milwaukee area in Wisconsin. I've been doing detailing for a couple years now and have been wanting to get a little more serious. Ive been doing the best I can with my details but the only thing they've been lacking is paint correction. I've been using an AutoZone orbital this whole time so i haven't been able to offer my customers much if any paint correction, though I still try to use various polishes ect to the best my equipment allowed. But none of that anymore! Yesterday I ordered a PC 7424xp with the pinnacle xmt light swirl combo along with pad cleaner and the dodo juice hard 4 pack to try out. I'm going to practice with it on my galaxy black 2005 Nissan armada and then let my customers that I have appointments for that i can now do paint correction for them! And on that note, of the vehicles I have scheduled there are 2 Mercedes, a BMW and a Porsche. Is there anything I should worry about or pay extra attention to on their paints? These higher end vehicles have me just slightly nervous. Oh and they're all 2010 or newer if it makes a difference.

Thanks in advance and I'm sure ill enjoy my stay here.

  1. Start with a less aggressive approach
  2. Take your time
  3. Do it right the first time

Meguiars 105 & 205 are excellent polishes for Mercedes and Porsche clear. Get 5.5"pads

Welcome from Memphis

Thanks for the advice! I always take the utmost care with vehicles that arnt my own. I would dread having to make the call telling someone that their car is damaged.

Welcome from Memphis

Any reason in particular for the 5.5" pads?

Thanks to everyone for the welcome. There's so much information on here, I'm learning a lot and don't think I've even scratched the surface of the tips and tricks this place has.

Welcome to the forum Scott ! I'd go to the show and shine section and see if you can't find some reviews of some paint correction on similar cars. Being that new you shouldn't have to do too much correction hopefully.
