My name is Jon and I'm happy to have found this forum and site!

Having read through several online posts here....TONS of information is revealed and everyone is super helpful. Great to be here. Ive been around cars since before I was even licenced to drive and have worked at a shop or two as well as just the odd job here and there. Now that I'm 40 now well...its time to step it up and do what I love.

Come spring I'm making the move and starting up a mobile business and I'm looking forward to all the questions I might have being answered...

Congratulations on your new business adventure!

Detailing requires a firm understanding of paints, defects, finish conditions, compounds, polishes, pads, machines, chemicals, protectants and finish protection...OH, and this is just the exterior.

Reading is a great way to gain knowledge. The information available on this forum is outstanding. Mike Phillips has written a really nice book on detailing and it's available in paper form and also electronic format....

Mike Phillips' The Art of Detailing Paperback Book

Most of your learning and experience will come from hands-on. read and understand some of the basics but get out there and practice. Having the desire to start a business is admirable but backing up that desire with experience, performance, and quality will ensure its survival....

Perfect, sound words of advice BobbyG.

I'd lose my a$$ if this was a job needed to make a living from, just too OCD.

Thanks a million guys.

Love this site and forum. Incredible people on here. I will definitely read Mikes book thanks!

Did I see a fellow chiver? #kcco
