First off, thank you to everyone who contributes and makes this such an incredible site with invaluable information to newbie's like me.
I recently bought a certified preowned 2008 528i, black on black. It looked great at the dealership but after the first wash....I noticed the swirls, spiderwebs, and deep scratches. I have read so many post and threads regarding how to properly wash, prep, clean, polish and protect a car. I've purchased microfiber towels, Meq car wash, Meg Clay bar, Meg SwirlX, Klasse AIO, Meg Nxt wax, etc.
So far, the car looks better, but nowhere near the before and after shots that I see posted in the forum. I'm not sure if I should invest several hundred dollars for more professional products and a PC or other DA polisher. Or take my car to a reputable detailer.
In general though, I am willing to put in the time and elbow grease to make the car perfect. I'm just hesitant to experiment on my car and potentially make things worse. I was hoping a forum member might know of a professional detailer in the Los Angeles/Orange County area that may have a "tuition detail" that may encompass hands on training and instruction on my car. Hopefully its a little cheaper since I'm willing to provide as many hours of work as needed.
I feel as if I can read a hundred more articles and watch dozens of youtube videos, but a few hours of one on one instruction will go a lot further.
Thank you in advance for your time and assistance. I am open to any suggestions.
Best regards,
Dat
