New guy here, first post. My detail experience is limited. Up until now I have maintained a 2007 Porsche Cayman and a Chevy Tahoe 4X4. I used hand washing/waxing with various Mothers products on the truck and P21S carnauba wax and paintwork cleaner with great results. The Cayman is history's replaced by a 2010 2wd 911 S cabrio. Triple black 4000 mi as new. this is driven every evening and on weekends weather permitting. My DD is a 2009 MB C 63 AMG sedan also triple black 33K mi has seen a number of Auto Bell auto washes. No proper detailing as yet only an assortment of carnauba detail sprays during drying. The paint shows some light surface scratches and swirl marks but nothing really bad. Also a 2009 Chevy Tahoe also triple black which I am presently working on with clay and some Pinnacle polish. Also a white MB 300 C class 2012 wife's car which lives outside. My kids also have 3 other cars which I will,be helping out to get up to speed. I have a new Makita 6040 sander-buffer which I have ZERO experience with. I have placed 3 orders and loaded up with Lake country,Pinnacle, and Wolfgang products for my new projects. I think that I should have gone with a Flex instead but I did not do my homework first. The idea of a buffer scares me but given the volume of work I appear to be out of options for hand application. I am 61 years old and retired at present. My other interests include collectible firearms, cigars, and outdoor sports-hunting/fishing. This is my 3rd Porsche and I have owned BMWs as well. I have been a PCA member for 5 years. I am happy to have discovered this source of detail supplies and advice. So far I have nothing but good things to say about it.
