Hello everyone. I'm 61 years young and love cars. I have four vehicals that I keep in really good shape. A 2002 Mazda Milleniam Pearl White with only 25,000 miles; A 2008 Toyota Tundra Red (love red) with 12,750 miles; A 1995 Corvette coupe Torch Red (did I mention that I love red:laughing:) with 61,000 miles; and lastly a 1998 Corvette coupe Pweter with 49,000 miles. I'm tired of polishing and waxing these guys by hand and would like to get some polishing, sealing and waxing products that would give these cars a "Car Show Shine". Soooo many products and DA polishers. I hope to decide soon on what to get. I belong to Corvette Forum and have learned a lot there. This site is great and I plan on purchasing from you. Thanks everyone for welcoming me.:xyxthumbs::xyxthumbs:

I live in Lawrenceburg. I'm not sure where Crawfordsville is. :S

Dang that's a long ways away lol. I'm like 9 miles from Cincy.

Once you start polishing by machine you'll never go back to working by hand except for areas you can't get to by machine or for the enjoyment of hand polishing or hand waxing a cool ride like one of the Corvettes...

The Porter Cable 7424 XP is hands down the easiest tool to learn to use and master. Griot's and Meguiar's have their version of it and the trend into the future are more knock-offs of this age-old, time-proven work horse.

I whole heartedly recommend people new to machine polishing to look at the PC to start with, the design has been around for approximately 30 years and with millions of cars having been buffed out using these tools you can trust you're cars are going to come out looking great too...

I post some of my articles over there once in a while, I've been a member of CF since 2002, I remember when I first joined all the regulars were always talking about how soft the clearcoat is on new Corvettes, it was a common misconception because people think that because a paint scratches easily it's soft, and that's just not the case.

Paints can be very hard and still scratch very easily, it's called, Scratch-Sensitive, actually a term coined by Barry Meguiar.

Great to see you join our forum, we'll do everything we can to see you through to success in your garage.

We have our Detailing 101 and 102 classes coming up in January, maybe plan a trip to the Autogeek Show Car Garage and reduce your learning curve and time down to almost zero...

:)

Welcome from one of the many hoosiers on the forum. Indy-westside. I drive past Crawfordsville every day on I-74 for work. Looks like we both share a love for cars and being 61. :props:

Welcome from another Hoosier. We frequent crawfordsville to visit friends. Nice quiet town.

I see you're a Corvette fan...So am I.... can you guess what I'm driving?

I like you have been into cars why back when we could work on them! Now, we just get to polish and wax then and drive um!! :props:

Autogeek's a pretty cool place with all the products, assistance, and support one could ever hope for. The members here are willing to answer any question you have and the knowledge-base here is pretty much endless.

Nice Vet BobbyG. 58?? Your a puppy:laughing:. What do you use to keep it looking so nice and shinny? I hope to buy some products from AG. Leaning toward the PCXP Polisher.

Both Vets are off the road for the winter. Come on Spring!!!

Like I said; 58 and right on your 6!

Buy some products from Autogeek, I probably have more in stock now than they do in Florida!

I took my Vette out last night for a while so I haven't put it to bed just yet! :props:

Washes - I like Duragloss 901. This works well but I also have DP Extreme Foam and Pinnacle Body Shampoo...........All work extremely well.

Polishes - I like the Menzerna line. Since the Corvette is a garage queen I use Menzerna Super Finish PO106FA then Menzerna Final Finish PO85RD. Both really make the glow.

Sealant - Menzerna Power Lock Paint Sealant

Wax - Pinnacle Signature Series II or Pinnacle Liquid Souveran Wax. These are both great product but there are so many
superb waxes to choose from here it's difficult to say which ones actually the best.

One wax that continues to amaze me is Collinite 845. This is an outstanding product and it provides the longest protection so it's perfect for your daily driver.

Happy thanksgiving

Everyone at AG and all Forum members. HAVE A SAFE HOLIDAY:dblthumb2::cheers:
