I was going to prepare pics for my first post but I'm sick of waiting.
I hated what the local express/fast/quick auto detail services were offering and I felt that most car wash/detail shops were the same. I felt I was paying too much for too little and for a job that I could do. I don't know if this is true. Maybe I am a DIY'er type or maybe I'm just cheap.

About 2 years ago I found the Autogeek store through a referral in the detail section of a car forum.

This is what I did for my first wash/was after becoming "educated" about 2 years ago.

1. I started off washing it at the self car wash with just soap and pressure spray. Vacuum. Drove home and wiped it down with MF from Walmart..
2. Used Meg's clay bar with Meg's QD for lube. Wiped off with some MF towels.
3. Applied Poorboy's EX with carnauba. Left it alone for well over an hour. Removed with MF.
4. Applied Meg's NXT liquid. Removed with MF. May have left it on 15 mins to an hour, can't remember.
5. Applied Meg glaze 26. Removed with MF. May have left this on for an hour too.
6. MUQD for touch ups.
7. For interior work I used Lexol vinyl and plastic protectant/cleaner, Lexol leather cleaner, and Lexol leather conditioner.
8. Windex for windows.

I was proud of my work and my wife was too.
And then I left detailing in the back of my mind and didn't get around to it much. We have been using self car washes, and yeah, we have been using car washes with brushes. Most often we use car washes like this one: Car Wash In Moore Oklahoma | Okie Express Auto Wash

Hey, its only $11 bucks and you get that Teflon bond, spray wax, wheel wash, tire shine, self serve vacuums, and clean car guarantee.

A series of events eventually triggered my thirst for round 2 of auto detailing.

I'm super excited about the Collinite 915.

I purchased a G flow foam spray from HD yesterday that I plan on using for multi purposes (maybe I just got overexcited from reading about it on the forum).

Now I can get serious about detailing again. I have a 2300-2700 psi (can't remember; and yes i kno not to turn it full blast on paint) PW with Honda motor and a 4.0hp Ridgid dry/wet vac. I also have a 5X8 trailer that I can outfit if I ever wanted to.

Do I want a start up mobile detail business? I like to heavily entertain the idea but I know that I'm far from actually pursuing it. I have a business background and I'm aware of the fantasy and realities that are a part of operating a business.
I have a couple of $$$ paying details available for me to take advantage of. I'll mostly be detailing for myself and my family. I have quite a bit of learning to do before becoming proficient enough to pick up jobs.

Oh yeah. I also have a 22ft box truck with lift gate. And an electric walkie/rider forklift. Anybody need these for a mobile detail service? hehe
