I have an innocent question (if you don't me asking and you don't mind answering)

Why does it seem that the UK cars are smaller than the ones we have here? Are the roads smaller?

The little car is a lot of fun and yes roads are probably a little smaller over here but light weight = faster and cheaper to keep in fuel (would love a large hp v8 but couldn't afford to run one ) .
