Thanks for the welcome!!

I consider myself to be somewhere in between. Back when I was in high school I worked for a car dealership in the clean up department cleaning new delivery vehicles. Then while I was in college I had a little side business cleaning cars for family, friends, and neighbors. I consider myself to be really good at "cleaning" cars, but not so much "detailing" but I do hope to get better. What I mean by that is, I never got into the buffing /paint correction side of the business.

By reading and posting on the forum, I hope to learn a lot and get advice on cleaning my own personal cars. Also, with the profession I am in, I only work 15 days a month, so I may try to get back into the cleaning business at some point.

So you just couldn't leave well enough alone. Lurking around the boards and looking at all of the shiny cars in Show and Shine wasn't enough for you. You had to join up.
Well now that you have joined allow me to let you know what you are in for.

1) If you are married you will begin to see your wife less and less. Now for some this might be a good thing I will leave that for you to decide

2) The fact that you joined this forum shows that you have a weakness for all things shiny. This being said you might find yourself having an urge to buff a strangers car. This to might be a good thing as some people will give you money because they think that you are down and out and others might give you a buck just to go away. As I said it could be a good thing unless the strangers car that you are buffing suffers from OCD. If that is the case than you might have a fight on your hands. BTW OCD stands for Obsessive Car Detailing disorder.

3) You will have problems sleeping unless you do a QD every night before bed.

4) If you live in an area were weather conditions make detailing a non winter activity you will suffer from cabin fever. There is no way around it. Ypu will have to join a support group and or at least be a part of a buddy system so that you will have someone who can talk you out of anything stupid that you think of doing. There was one member who suffered from the fever so badly that he locked himself in the bathroom and proceded to machine polish all of the granit and marble with his Flex 3401. He was at it for two days straight and it wouldn't have been such a bad thing except for the fact that he didn't have any granit or marble in his bathroom

5) No matter how strong the urge becomes NEVER sell your blood to pay for detailing supplies. Wait for a VIP sale or a BOGO or a 20% off deal. AGO is good at providing opportunities to make the products more affordable. You don't have to give your blood to have a sweet ride maybe just a little sweat LOL

Having said all of this WELCOME TO YOUR NEWW SECOND HOME!!!!!!!Im the MAN:buffing:

And please post some pictures of your work:Picture:
