Hi everyone. I just registered but I have been reading the forum for a while. You have provided me with lots of great info over the years and I finally decided to participate!

I've never done any paint correction and that will be my next mission. I hope to learn how to do it effectively, especially now that I have a black car. But I have done lots of polishing/cleaning, glazing, and sealant/wax application. At the moment, I'm trying out Ultima Paint Guard Plus, but I also like Souveran, S100, and Zaino. Unfortunately, I have found that Zaino doesn't protect against water spot etching as much as I'd like so I decided to try the UPGP.

Anyway, I detailed my baby, my month old Miata, this weekend. Here are some photos. Hope you like. By the way, I'm a female. I wonder how many of us are on here!

Looking forward to future discussions with you all!

Greetings from a fellow Virginian.

Great looking roadster! Gotta love the black.

:welcome: from NJ. Your car looks greeat driving topless IMO is the only way to travel. What products did you use? You did a splended job...

Thanks for the kind welcome!

I was hesitant to get a black car and I know it will be a challenge, but they are very rewarding at the same time. Love your S2k!

LOL! Thanks so much for the compliment!

I used Duragloss car wash, Prima Amigo glaze/cleaner with PC and grey finishing pad, and Ultima Paint Guard Plus sealant. Prima Slick was the QD I used. I had just cleaned the paint with clay and 1Z Metallic Polish a few weeks prior so I didn't do that again this time.

Welcome to the forum and another steeler fan-awesome. What part of VA are you from?

Thanks, supercharged, conan777, and ASPHALT ROCKET! :)

I'm from central VA, the boonies! Halfway between Charlottesville and Fredericksburg. Yep, been a Steeler fan all my life. Looking forward to training camp starting soon!

I am going to training camp the week of the 17th.

Welcome to the forum loco. Asphalt can be your mentor when it comes to detailing. You can learn from the best. Take a look at his black vette.

Cool! I've never been up for camp. I usually go to Pittsburgh for one home game a year, but will have to skip this season. Have fun at Latrobe!

Thanks Rsurfer! Yeah, it's a beaut! So are all the cars in the photos here, yours included!

Black cars are beautiful aren't they?!!! Did a great job on yours. Roanoke here. Your Mazda will be a blast to drive. You should check out the central va. mazda club.

Hi Fred, thanks for the welcome and compliment. Nice looking hatchback you got there! :) Is that a 3? I like the black wheels, too!

I'll look into the Central VA Mazda Club. That sounds like the most local to me. Thanks!

The Miata looks nice! What kind of machine are you using?

Thanks e24mpwr! I'm using a Porter Cable 7424. I have not used it for any serious paint correction yet, but I want to learn!

Hi loco, another female car-lover here! I don't think there are very many of us. However, I don't know ANYone else as passionate about their car as me - male or female. Glad to know I'm not alone!

Great to hear from you, LDJaxon! Beautiful car you have there!

I know what you mean - when I see what other people do to their cars to "clean" them, it makes me cringe. I just want to take the sponge from their hand! lol
