So I'm in the process of a garage remodel, which I'm excited about and will share images of before and after when I'm done.

Well my DD leaks a little and since my wife's car is in my normal spot that I've accepted will have stains while the garage is in chaos I decided to park in the street. I'm on a pretty quiet suburban street and I accepted that the car may get hit, however I figured if it got hit it would be good enough to total it. Which would not be good, but would not break my heart.

This morning I found it smashed just on the drivers door. It looks like someone backed out of the neighbors driveway and got it. Door smashed won't open and the window shattered.

It's now at the shop waiting on an estimate. Normally I would fix this myself but since the door does not work and I don't have a window I'm just letting a shop take care of it.

Oh well, just thought I would share the frustration.

I never was a victim of a hit and run, that would make me so mad not knowing who the jerk was. When I was rear ended at a stop light I at least knew who hit me. A hit and run would make me even more upset. Hopefully karma gets them back for you. I hope everything works out for the best for you.

Ask around the neighborhood to see if anyone had an outside security cam that might have got the miscreant.

Same thing happened to a woman that I worked with. Her neighbor across the street got a nice, clear, HD shot of the pizza delivery guy, his plate number, and the national chain that did it.
Even got a shot of the clown getting out of his car to look at the damage then driving off.

She got a nice chunk of change to get her Aston martin repaired. Like new.

Sorry this crime occurred against you
and your property. Glad you and your
Loved-Ones were not physically harmed.

I know my following rant won't alleviate your
situation...But, IMHO, Hit-and-Run drivers are:
-Persons that blame others for their behavior
-Persons that have a lack of empathy
-Persons that suffer from a lack of
good moral judgment
–Persons that are afraid of legal repercussions

Kinda boils down to a crime of high emotion...
and low thinking.

Thanks all for the comments. I could never understand the hit and run mentality.
Either way I'm not terribly upset. When it's all said and done that is what insurance is for. Also I would have been heartbroken if it was one ofmy Old cars or wife's car that I try and maintain to a little higher level. The VW gets pretty beat making the treck into Chicago from the burbs.
