Howdy Folks. :xyxthumbs:

Wow, It’s been a busy . . . . Uhh, long time now down here in our wee shop in New Zealand, & I wondered when I was working on this one whether or not you guys “State Side” got these as something other than a Holden Commodore Sports Wagon or you simply didn’t get these at all.

This is a 2012 Holden Commodore SS Sports Wagon, 6 speed manual, L77 6.0 litre variant. Pretty common here & in Australia but still a cool bit of kit.

Detailing wise - It had the normal swirls, RIDs & associated contamination etc that comes with a seven year old vehicle but all in all nothing to concerning - all in a days work for me. I didn’t bother taking any before pictures of this one & I’m not claiming the Worlds biggest turnaround, more so sharing the car rather than my workmanship.

Normal wash process, decontamination etc was carried out, & in terms of paint enhancement I went with Flex 3401 with Lake Country Manufacturing Blue SDO Pads for the chipping step (6 passes :buffing:) with 3D ONE as compound/polish of choice. Stayed with 3D ONE for refining with the 3401 & Orange Lake Country Manufacturing SDO Pads.

A forensic IPA wipe down & coated with Feynlab Ceramic ceramic coating + Feynlab Top Coat.

So so here are the beauty pictures - :xyxthumbs:

That's my type of wagon! Love the gloss on that blue!

Stunning work and nice presentation, my friend. I like those racing tool chests!

Way cool estate Aaryn! Nothing like that here, but may the Buick Regal TourX is a variation?

Great work on that Aaryn! And it is a super cool wagon with a great power-plant and drive-train! Wish we has them over here! Love it!

Awesome finish you got on it Aaryn!

Is Holden a GM owned brand? Wondering if they still have Opel in their company. Kind of looks like an Opel Astra Sports Tourer or the Vauxhall if you get them in the UK. With some little change of the lights and some trim. Useally many shares the same chassi and body. The body can have some slightly changes to on them. Also the Chevrolet Cruze Station Wagon looks a little like this.

But the Holden has one big engine in it LOL.

Edit:
Or maybe it's the bigger Opel Insignia Sports Tourer?

Man I wish we got those over here

Ahh, so it seems you guys don’t get these. Damn! They’re pretty cool, I mean, I’m an “Old School” kinda guy but there’s a fair bit of car in one of these. End of the road now though ....

Thanks Justin. :xyxthumbs:

Thank you Klasse Act. :xyxthumbs:

I dig this Colour! “Chlorophyll Teal” is the name of it & it’s stunning when it’s done right.

Thanks you SNP209. :xyxthumbs:

Appreciate it buddy!

Haha! They’re pretty cool. Not super high quality like SnapOn or Kokon etc but hey, they’re there to house polishers & barely move so they’ll be fine for me. It started with the Herbie one (Flex tools chest) & being a VW guy I simply had to have it ... I didn’t need it but you know the deal.
Then came the Gulf one (RUPES tools chest) & I thought it’d be a shame not too . . . Then they brung out a Martini one but the tool chest itself was completely different & that just didn’t wash with me.
The General Lee one, well this one I had no use for what so ever BUT I grew up on The Dukes of Hazzard & yeah . . . There it is. It is set up primarily for Coating work - Microfibres, applicators, respirators etc etc.

I cannot have any more though . . . No no no. :nomore:

Great job on a seriously cool car!

Cheers Desertnate. :xyxthumbs:

Thank you mc2hill. :xyxthumbs:

Ahh, the Buick Regal TourX is what replaced these now that Holden have ceased production in Australia. Badged as a Holden Commodore here but sales have been slow since their release. Are they American made my friend???

Good fun to drive ... turn that Traction Control OFF ... 6 on the floor ... yeehaa! :props:

Thank you Tony. :xyxthumbs:

Holden is/was indeed a GM product. These ones were made in Australia up until late 2017 & then shut down operations in Australia in terms of manufacturing. The later variants got the LS3 6.2 litre V8.

We did get the Astra & the Cruze also. Both rebadged as Holden here just like the Buick Regal TourX that mc2hill mentioned earlier.

Appreciate you takin* the time to comment Tony. :props:

I would think so, but probably from the same Opel Insignia platform Tony (swetm) mentioned.

Oh my goodness what a beauty!! My wife loves her G8,but I so wish they had brought the wagon over here! It would've certainly been more affordable than the CTS V wagon.

Thanks AllenK. :xyxthumbs:

Indeed, they are actually a nice Wagon. The rear hatch is thought out really well too . . . You can park (rear facing) right up to a wall & it can open without hitting, handier than it sounds. :xyxthumbs:

The Holden Ute is cool, but the wagon just does it for me! The Caprice PPV is still somewhat of a "secret",but people are figuring out they're very similiar to a G8 and can be picked up dirt cheap. Kinda want one.

My wife bought a pair of running shoes a year or so ago. I went to another store while she did so. I walked up as she was talking to one of the workers/owners outside after her purchase. As soon as I heard him I recognized an Australian accent. I said to myself "I am going to blow this dude's mind by telling him we own a Holden." And,it did! He had no idea about the GTO and the G8 coming here. His wife, not from Australia, was even more baffled. :)

Yeah, the Caprice is a nice car (yeah we got it as the Holden Caprice or Holden Statesman) a lot were/are corporate style cabs here in New Zealand.
