Holograms and trails after applying wax with DA.....

I noticed a few holograms and trails after applying wax (Duragloss 105 and then 111) on my hood.

This is a new car and the only thing that's been done is a wash and clay by myself.

I'm using a Porter Cable 7424XP with a black Lake Country pad.

What did I do wrong? How can I fix it? I do have some HD Speed and orange pads on hand.

Maybe you picked up something on the pad out of one of the gaps in the body panels.

I'm not familiar with DG 105/111 but maybe/hopefully it is just left over product like if you applied too heavily and didn't get all the residue off.

I would think HD Speed would clear it up if it was from a dirty pad.

Well, the HD Speed cleared it up. I think it was more poor technique than a dirty pad. I was moving too fast and actually had to Speed the hood twice. The first time cleared up the original problems but added new ones. Once I slowed down (like all the videos show), things were much better. I'm going to top it with Poxy once it arrives.
