There's hardly anything you won't remove with an orange pad + FG400... Don't need to rush over MF pads, although they are a great addition to PC style polishers.
By the way, using proper technique is key. Generally I don't prime the pad (the formal way) when using FG400, I use a fine mist of a detailer spray (like Meg's #34 Final Inspection) and some 3-4 dime size drops (for 6.5" pads or pea size for 5" pads). Spread product in one pass, or dab surface with polisher off. Start with FIRM pressure and slow arm speed, doing the section passes up / down then side to side. After 4-5 passes you'll notice product turning transparent. If not:
a) You are using too much product
b) You are not using enough pressure
c) You are using too much pressure your pad is barely spinning
d) You are moving the polisher too fast
After product turning transparent, you may reduce the pressure and try to finish down with ~2 more passes. Work small areas at a time.
Menzerna are the kind of product that 'likes to be underused and overworked'. Just be aware to not use too little and dry buff.
Depending on pad, FG400 may go from cutting to LSP ready in many cases, I can achieve this using Hybrid Orange Cutting Pads.
By the way, test a least abrasive method since the holograms you're relating were caused by an aggressive approach. Maybe if you try to refine it that may work, and for that you may even start using SF4000 on a white pad. Everything will depend on your TEST SPOT.
Hope I've helped,
Kind Regards.
