Holograms from bodyshop

Car had front end damage. Left side fender, headlight, driver door and bumper repaired and painted as well as the damage underneath repaired.

There are holograms I saw in the sunlight as well as obvious swirl marks on the fender. The GF took it back and shop says they can't see the holograms. We have to take it back after the Holiday. What can I do to make it undeniable for them? Would a flashlight shined on the paint show it better? Should I take a picture in the sunlight showing them?

I hate dealing with bodyshops which is why I drive around with my car damaged :(

Just so you know...

If they couldn't do the job right the first time they can't do it right a second time and letting them work on it again just means they're remove more of the precious clear layer of paint and leave a new set of swirls.

Then when you or someone that knows what they are doing removes the swirls they put in you'll have to remove even more clear paint.

When I used to call on body shops one of the things I would always do is,

Look to see what kind of tools they're using, almost always rotary buffers and NOTHING else.

What kind of pads, usually a dirty, worn out wool cutting pad on a dirty worn out rotary buffer



Ask them,

What they use for their last machine step?
(You want to see the machine, pad and product)


What they do after the last machine step?
(It's either nothing or some type of filling glaze)


Print this thread out and show it to them...

This is why we can't have nice things... I guess I'll have to decide on spending even more $ to get it fixed proper or have them hack it up some more. sigh

Will update when its fixed.
 
I agree with (Mike.Phillips), been there, done that. I went back to the bodyshop and explained that their trainee hacked the job and was going to take it elsewere to have them correct the job and wanted them to pay for the extra cost. I knew that they were not going to opt for this, but I did get an adjustment check which helped offset the cost with getting the job done correctly. FYI getting the work done at a dealership is really twice as bad, had my wife's car damaged by their work. Remember word of mouth advertising, when someone asks.
