Homebrew: Do You Mix Two Or More Products?

A little bit of KSG in Meg's UQD;
A little bit more KSG in Meg's UQW.

Every now and then: 50/50 Meg's#7/#26.

How much is a little KSG?

I have an almost full bottle I'm looking to use up. I like the look but it's a little temperamental at times

how are you applying it?

I applied it like OC at about 45F over the weekend and it was easy peasy...

I did use very little though (less than .5 ounce) and even less on subsequent coats. At this rate, I'll never finish a bottle. Maybe I'll start adding it to other stuff too. Apparently at 10:1 dilution with distilled, it makes a pretty good wheel sealant.

KSG=Klasse Sealant Glaze
UQD=Meg's Ultimate QuikDetailer
UDW=Meg's Ultimate DetailWax

-For a Quick-Detailer-Spray: 1:6 ratio of KSG:UQD (approx. 1/2oz KSG:8oz.UQD)
-For a Detail-Spray-Wax: 1:4 ratio of KSG:UDW (2oz KSG:8 oz.UDW)

-KSG says it can be layered...another way to use up some of your KSG!

Hope this helps.

My winter protection this year is KSG using about 6 layers!!! 2 Layers @ 2:1 (H2O/KSG) / 2 Layers @ 3:1 / 2 Layers @ 2:1...
A little overkill but I love it. Using it a 2:1 & 3:1 makes KSG super easy to use and spread lightly. And it dries much quicker allowing me to re-coat in 2 hours not 8. It looks great right now. I be testing the durability over the winter. But even the 6 layers I laid down were quick and painless. 3 Each day... I didn't remove any haze between coats only after the final application.

Thanks for the tip, Troy, on layering KSG. :xyxthumbs:
I'll have to give that a try on the Wife's daily driver (Jeep) this weekend !!!

I add glaze to my paint sealant and it makes a regular detail look really good!! I have tested it on 5 cars at the beginning of this year and washed the cars every other week, never used quick detailers on them and they still bead like a champ!

I poured them all (maybe 20 different heavy compounds, polishes and sealants) into a gallon jug and shook it up well to homogenize into one consistent brew. I figured I could use it for something eventually and there it sat for another year. I drew a skull and cross bones on the jug with magic marker.

I do the same thing when whatever polish, compound, etc I'm using gets almost empty & I'm not going to refill. Pour into a 3M qt size & use it on headlights. I don't think that container has ever been empty. Although I didn't put the skull & crossbones on. :cool:

I never had a problem until last time I used it. It was a dark color car and it was streaky and hard to wipe off. I think it was the weather (95+ and pretty humid) but I'm not positive. I haven't use it since then

if you ever run into that problem again, mix up some 1:6 ksg/distilled in a spray bottle and use it to remove the streaks. Like dissolves like principle.

I'm assuming any acrylic based QD will also work (Sonus, FK425, etc...)

it's been done to reduce dusting and increase cut a smidge...

I mixed M105 and M205 and made M310 Im the MAN

I'm sorry...it was too easy...I couldn't resist.

I'd never have thought of mixing in glazes with waxes/sealants - going to give that a try :)

I know im saying has anyone mixed it in a bottle so you down have to use 2 bottles while detailing.

You could and it would still have the same affect. Just like cooking you have a recipe. If you mix products keep track of amounts so you can follow the recipe next time if it works well for you.

I'm going to mix some KSG and QD this weekend.

So Liquid Souverän and M21 should be a natural combo then, right? ;)
