Hello all,

This is the third and final car that I detailed during this long “holiday”. I had 9 days off and squeezed in 3 cars into this space. Was definitely back breaking, to the point where I feel this was not really a holiday lol.

Anyways, the car is my 2016 Accord v6 Sport in Golden Brown Metallic, which is a new color for 2016 (for our market) and I really love this color. IMO the American Accord looks much much nicer on the outside, but interior wise I prefer this car as it comes with E-brake and auto hold feature, along with full LED interior lighting. I hate the second screen though :P

The car was already in great shape save for the front and rear bumper which were replaced/repainted after a fender bender in May and the entire rear trunk area which was oh so kindly wiped by the the dealership with a dry cloth plenty of times….how nice of them right? I put up signs to not wash the car, they said “sir you said not to wash…not to wipe”….no comment.

I used the 5” black hybrid finishing pads on most of the car and white 5” hybrid pads for the bumpers and rear trunk area.

Onto the products used:

Car before starting:

This is only because the car was not washed in 9-10 days…seriously just 9-10 days.

Started with wheels:

Engine received a cosmetic detail. Sprayed on APC 4:1 on areas I thought were safe, agitated with a 1” brush and blew off using my leaf blower. Then applied Wolfgang exterior trim sealant. Not great looking, but a 100 times better.

Just for fun, I decided to clay my roof and hood with regular clay. I was shocked it was so contaminated. Clearly my Nanoskin fine mitt did not remove much the previous time (May). Either it was too much lube or the mitt is dying. Not so sure. This time I used clay and my new Medium nanoskin mitt.

Paint:

It was extremely hard to capture defects as they were so tiny, mostly marring.

Although the Uber coating did not work as I had hoped it would, the car still looks amazing and better than any other accord on the road ☺

P.S. I ran out of Uber due to a leaking syringe due to which the front and rear bumper received Menzerna Powerlock.

As always, comments and thoughts appreciated.

Thank you for looking,

Mukul

Gorgeous work and writeup, Mukul! Thanks for letting us see it.

Nice! If I had an Accord Sedan, I would so try to see if the front and rear fascia from the version sold abroad would fit! I have a coupe though.

Awesome job my friend! that color is beautiful.

Thank you! Appreciate it! :D

Thanks man! I wouldn't mind a swap if its a 2016 haha :p I love the proper exhaust pipes and full LED fronts!

Well done! It looks very nice! The paint really needed to be clayed! Wow!

Fantastic write up and great pictures.

This is what makes us autogeeks... our time off is spent doing labor intensive detailing LOL.

Thanks for taking the time to share!

Thanks man! Yeah I was shocked at the clay. I guess my Fine Grade Nanoskin is dead lol.

Thanks a lot man! I agree, time off well spent haha!

Nicely done! :props:

Good ole' 205. Shame about your coating experience. Seems like a logical environment for the product, too bad it requires certain range for application.

While I like the convenience of clay alternatives, I don't think I'll be giving up play-doh just yet.

Thank you sir!

Yes it was a bummer about the coatings. I really want it to be perfect but even when it cools down I still don't have a completely closed garage to apply this. This results in plenty of wind and cross winds, and I feel that will hamper the coating application as well. That and the fact that I saw ZERO high spots when I wiped it off with all the lights, but next day I had so many...I dont know. I also noticed that the brighter the light on the paint, the LESS you can see the coating being applied in addition to the high spots. I only noticed my high spots at sunset the next day.

Anyways $200 plus shipping down the drain..which hurts and I got results that I am not happy with.

As for clay, I feel you on that one. That's pretty much why I used both this time around :)

A quick update. I did my first wash this weekend since applying the coating, almost 10 days. Bar the high spots and smudges, the coating still works as advertised. I had very nice beeding and sheeting.

I rinsed the car down to remove loose dirt and proceeded with a Rinseless wash with Uber as its still too hot to do full wash, especially after coming home from work.

Below pictures are only after the initial rinse. I feel a cleaner car would probably give better beads. Anyways, it was still nice. I took a video and posted it on instagram too, which shows the sheeting characteristics.

Onto the two pics:
