This is a second hand car and the new owner wanted to have it in mint conditions before driving it.
A full detail was booked and PDR was also required. This car has been smashed by hail twice, so lots of dings were pushed back.
01 - Car upon arrival
As you can see, the roof is very damaged by hail, also, some scratches can be seen. This car has almost every kind of paint defect. Swirls, buffer trails, bird poop etching, deep scratches, etc, etc.
02 - Washing
Wheels were removed for a deep cleaning with assorted brushes and strong mixture of APC. Weel arches were in bad condition, lots of mud.
Car was thoroughly washed using MALCO Very Berry soap, MEgs MF mitt and various brushes. Clayed with Megs claybar and soapy water as lube.
03 - PDR
Damages were inspected using proper tools and lighting. Roof liner was removed to have easy access to the dents. Dentcraft and B&D tools were used to remove all dings and dents from the roof, bonnet, trunk and pillars.
04 - Polishing
The paint condition was so bad on this car that I was skeptical about using the least aggressive method. My first thought was using 3M Polishing Compound and Megs Compound Pad. But I remebered all the time Mike's advices about using the Least Aggressive Method, saving clear coat and time.
I decided then to use Megs Polishing Pad (yellow) and SONAX Nano Polishing. I was surprised that by applying this combo I could get rid of 80% of the defects.
Deep scratches were sanded down with 2000 grit sand paper and polished with Megs 3" Compound Pad and 3M Polishing Compound.
At the end, I could remove 85% to 90% of the defects.
05 - Interior
Interior was thoroughly vacuummed.
APC (4 to 1 mix) was sprayed on the leather seats and using a soft brush were scrubbed down to remove all dirt. Had to scrub the seats one more time. The 1st time was not enought to remove all dirt (no pics unfortunatelly).
Door panels were sprayed with APC and agitated with a soft brush.
06 - LSP
The car was washed one more time, but only with a high pressure washer this time, just to remove all dust from polishing. Collinite 845 was applied to protect the paint.
The owner was more than happy with his car.
